My attention was first drawn to betfair.com when they purchased rival internet betting exchange flutter.com. I had a minimal quantity of money in my flutter account as I had not really become gripped by the gambling bug. This situation rapidly changed when I was informed that I was now a signed up member of betfair.com. The important feature of betfair.com is that it is a betting exchange and not a bookmaker. Members of the website both make and take odds as they choose. In layman's terms this means that you have the choice of playing bookmaker or punter. Betfair.com make their money by taking a 5% commission on your winnings which would seem to make it uncompetitive compared to the ladbroke's and coral's of this world that now enjoy tax free status. This is not true however as better odds consistently appear on betfair.com when compared with any bookmaker. This makes the site a profitable place to speculate to accumulate. Regular backers of all sports are missing great opportunities to pick up higher odds. I thoroughly recommend it as a top class website.
Ebay offers great value to surfers all over the world as long as you are willing to be patientand look through what can often be long lists of goods. There is little doubt that there is always something being auctioned that will be of use to a budding purchaser. All sorts of electrical equipment can be found at half retail price or lower as well as an awesome array of everything and anything. The site also provides great value for sellers as well as buyers. An example of this is a Swatch watch(one of 100,000 made) that I was given by Deutsche Bank a few years back. On ebay they sell at over £100 a go, not bad for a mass production watch that I don't even use. Definitely worth looking every now and again as an alternative to shopping in the high street.
Flutter.com is the best betting site that I have seen so far. It allows members to play either the role of punter through taking odds or bookie by setting odds. "Flutters" can be on all manner of things in the sporting world as well as many subjects in the entertainment world with of course flutters on big brother being very popular. To entice new members they're presently giving £10 to flutter with when you sign up which is hardly worth turning down. To be honest the odds that are given by some members are pretty tight but there are always good bets to be found if you're willing to look around and you know the subject that you're betting on. This site provides many hours of enjoyment and I firmly recommend signing up
Whenever I need to find something on the web, I automatically choose Yahoo to find it. The easy to understand categories are very useful when trying to track something down. Compared to other search engines such as altavista or ask Jeeves, Yahoo doesn't produce thousands of results which are of no use whatsoever. The search result is always very basic in that it either responds with the site that you're after or it finds nothing at all with no list of junk to look through like altavista The quality e-mail service that is available from Yahoo also adds to the number of trips that are made to the site. Definitely the best search engine out there.
Father Darren has gained momentum in the last few weeks as far as I'm concerned. His style within the house has both a male and feminine touch that appears to be keeping all elements of the house reasonably happy with him. His ability to flirt in a very friendly and joking manner with any of the girls has proved appropriate in most circumstances when compared to the more clumsy and desperate attempts by Craig. In the Nick incident he also showed a lot of strength and will power that is likely to have proved popular within the house as he showed that he would not take crap from any of the other contestants. His one problem may be his domination of all things kitchen in the evening which does annoy a lot of the others as he is practically running a monopoly on dinner preparation. Overall though he strikes me as being a popular member of the house in with a great chance.
Within a week of being in the house Claire already appears to have found romance with Craig. I thought that Mel's level of flirtatious behaviour was going to be hard to top but these two are quite the lovestruck twosome even to the point of spending "quality time" in bed together. In fairness Craig has always struck me as being interested in getting some action with pretty much whichever of the girls would take him, and Claire certainly appears to fit the bill. As soon as she entered the house she must quite clearly have been keen as it's only taken a matter of days for her to jump in the sack with him. It will be interesting to see how the nominations pan out regarding Claire next week as she can probably be certain that Craig will not vote for her. For the rest of the group it is more unclear as to how they might react to a "couple" in the house. I think that Claire might prove to be a surprise and not necessarily be nominated out immediately as expected.
Anna is at present the bookmaker's favourite to walk away from the Big Brother house with £70,000. With her only having recieved one vote in all the nominations that we have had so far it is quite understandable to see why. I, however, do not rate her as highly as everyone in the house clearly does. To be quite honest I do not think that she is far from Nick in terms of having a stringent game plan with regards to taking the £70,000 home. She is playing the role of helpful team player and to be fair to her she is playing this very well, hence she is getting on very well with everyone else in the house. However from the audiences point of view it is very obvious that she does have a plan. I get the impression that she is not happy about Clare joining the group at all and in the next few weeks we may find her cracking in terms of her game plan. This could lead to the others perhaps getting a glimpse of what she is really like as I do not believe that she is behaving in her normal way. She just seems too "nice" to be true at the moment.
Tom seems to be handling the Big Brother experience better than most. He never really loses control with regard to an argument or disagreement and appears to get along with everyone reasonably well. His reaction to Mel's quite open flirtations a few weeks back show how he feels that getting too close to another member of the group could be damaging if it goes too far. Tom's attitude to his relationship with Mel goes for the whole group as well where it can be said that he is not overly close with either of the boys or Anna and yet doesn't appear to antagonize them either. When he felt Nick was getting too close to him in the infamous name passing incident he immediately involved Craig as well through discussing it in an effort to distance himself from too closer a relationship with Nick alone. I think he is certainly one of the big favourites to win as his neutrality is likely to keep him from disenchanting either the other residents or the general public
Throughout this programme I have always felt the Craig was a nice bloke who doesn't ofted put a foot wrong and hence doesn't really upset people. The problem with this was that it made Craig an unbelievably boring member of the house and hence I wanted him to go. His confrontation with Nick and as a consequence removal of him has shed new light on his personality, and in the long run massively improved his chances of winning. I believe that he will now become a firm house and public favourite as a result of the terrible treatment he has experienced at the hands of Nick. The chairman role that he played in the house meeting concerning Nick has really shown his strength and I think he may become more of a leader figure in the house. Whether he can challenge in the late stages is hard to tell as I think Anna, Tom and Mel are going to be hard to beat. We will wait and see...
Floyd co-writer David Gilmour describes this album as being purely a moan and when you listen to it you can see why. At the time of producing this album Waters was becoming increasingly dominant in the band and set about writing a concept album himself. The result of this was "The Wall" and the rest of the band did not contribute to it much at all(a notable exception being "Comfortably Numb", the best track on the album, which Gilmour co-wrote). It tells the story of a pop star who going mad and the anger in many of the songs is indicative of this. Of course most people remember it for "Another Brick in the Wall" and its groundbreaking video but there is a very deep meaning to this album. This is genuinely an example of an album where every song is related to eachother and the album requires listening to in order. It is certainly not like the albums of today which are purely a collection of individual singles thrown in a random order. I personally love this album and feel that Waters concept comes off very well, this view, however, is not so readily shared by the rest of the band.
It is becoming increasingly inevitable that sex in the Big Brother house is only days away, if that. Since joining the show Claire has been on a virtually non-stop flirt session with Craig and it is quite easy to see why. Having lived on the outside of the house for the first half of the competition, Claire will no doubt have heard about the £50,000 that sponsors "Southern Comfort" are prepared to pay any of the contestants who have sex in the house. Not only will she have heard about the reward but she will also have noted that Craig will be far easier to bed than Darren or Tom. This plan seems to rival even Nick in terms of cunning as Claire will automatically land £50,000 for her antics as well as press coverage/publicity to make the departure of Nick from the house seem like an everyday occurence. This could well catapult her to celebrity status as well as earn her a small fortune after she has left the house. Good luck to her.
It can certainly be said that Mel is keen on her men!!! Her quite blatent flirtations with Tom have so far appeared to be unsuccessful but I think a relationship could well be on the way sooner rather than later in the Big Brother house. A relationship would certainly liven things up and I think that it would be particularly interesting to see how the rest of the group would react. Would a room be reserved for lovers? It is difficult to guage how Mel will do in the long run as her moods and the way that she acts are constantly changing. I personally think that she is one of the favourites to win the overall prize as I can see the public supporting the member of the group who is so clearly showing that she needs a relationship. I have to say that she is my favourite of the girls and I hope that she goes far as she is one of the more interesting characters as opposed to run of the mill contestants like Anna, who frankly would send me to sleep if I ever met her.
I think that Nick is absolutely brilliant. He is the only member of the Big Brother group who actually realises what this programme is all about for the contestants, and that is to try to stay in house and win the 70 grand. He is constantly trying to ally himself with people even the ones that he himself has voted for(eg Caroline/Darren). He quietly moves around the group attempting to find out who people have voted for so as to decide who he is going to tactically vote for next time around. Of the entire group he is the only one who votes with the prize in mind rather than the house make-up. Of course he's a complete fool as we all can see in his efforts on the assault course which have been comical to say the least. He is also not shy to lie through his teeth so as to get along and I have to say that this programme wouldn't be half as fun if he wasn't in the house. His one problem is that even if he does go through to the final vote the general public dislike him so much he hasn't got a chance!!
This woman deserves to be thrown out and frankly with luck she will. Her performance last week with Darren was pathetic. First she winds him up, so naturally they have an argument in which she attempts to be strongminded with him, then all she does is run off to the girls room and burst into tears. The group as a whole could do without her as she is highly likely to be a problem the longer she stays in the house. As I see it she appears desperate to see her family and I think that it wouldn't upset her if she got out of the house. She's a very bubbly friendly person but I think that her personality has been stretched to its limit by the Big Brother scenario and I think she will fall to pieces if she stays longer. Let's face it, she's definitely out now as there is no way that the public will vote out Craig after confronting Nick
There are only two things that have stopped Man Utd from winning the Championship in the last eight years. Arsenal won their last 10 games in the 1997-98 campaign and Roy Keane got injured in the 1994-95 season. The spectacular run-in that the Gunners produced in '98 would have made any side sweat and understandably toppled the mighty United. The crippling season-long injury suffered by Keane in '94-95 let Blackburn in. The 1998 Arsenal was a world class side with quality players all playing at their peak, there was no shame in Utd finishing second to them. The 1995 Blackburn side however was a very different thing, it was a mediocre side in comparison that fumbled its way to the championship on the back of a firing Alan Shearer and a freak career-year from Chris Sutton. The fact that Blackburn managed to be relegated within four years show how suspect they were as a club. For the previously all-conquering United to fall second to Blackburn that year there had to be a reason and that reason was the absence of Roy Keane. Quite simply the man is essential to the best team in the land and to coin an American reference he is the Carling Premiership MVP year after year. United are a different side without him and in my mind one of the shrewdest pieces of business Sir Alex has done in his time occured when he resigned Roy to his massive contract last year, he is vital.
