Just watch 3 to Tango a week ago. This is REALLY REALLY funny movie. The lead actor, Methew Parry, put up a very good act. If you like Friends, you’ll like 3 to Tango. Methew Parry is dentist in Montreal, Canada. Bruise Wilise is a cold blooded hit man who is running from his previous boss. When you put a dentist and a hit man together, you get plenty of laughter. The movie talks about how the two get rid of trouble. The story is easy to follow and it doesn’t make thing too illogical like most comedy does.
Watched Stuart Little yesterday. It is “for kids” kind of movie. I would the animation of the mouse (Stuart) is really impressive. Even the talking cats showed human-like facial expression. This is even better than The Pig. One must watch this movie to see how technology has advanced. I don’t quite like the story line, simply because it is hard to accept human would conceive talking-mouse as normal, and will adopt a mouse to be part of the family member. The comedy part is nice though.
According to industry observers, Intel's yet-unannounced Pentium 4 CPU is slower than AMD’s Athlon. This forced Intel to extend the Pentium III line. Using 0.13 micron technology, the new Pentium III should boast higher Mhz, engaging in the last battle with Athlon b4 Pentium 4 is mature enough to knock out Athlon. AMD’s Athlon is approaching 1.5 Ghz next year, and the 0.13 micron Pentium III will play catch up at 1.4 Ghz. AMD’s 1Ghz Athlon is already using copper-interconnect. Intel will only start using copper-interconnect at 1.4Ghz due to its better fabrication technology. The line will also allow Intel to perfect high-volume production of the new process technology using a mature and proven Pentium III core before transitioning to the next-generation Pentium 4. Good luck.
A US based company is selling pre-tested Celeron 903 for £100. With this, you get a Celeron 533Mhz pre-tested at 903Mhz, Abit Sloket III, and the famous Golden Ord cooler. In my opinion, the testing procedure is quite robust. This is all you need to upgrade your old and tired Celeron 300A system. Before you proceed, make sure your motherboard is able to supply the 1.8V core voltage. No problem with new mobos. Need to be careful with old mobo. Write enquiry e-mail to the manufacturer (they do reply). I know the Abit BH6 rev 1.0 could (need to update the BIOS). Even if the mobo supplies 1.8V, the speed displayed during POST may not be correct, which is annoying to some. The shipping and handling charge should be around £10. Order at http://www.overclockedcpus.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv Good luck.
I watched The Patriot on the first day of its release, 14 July. Having heard a lot about this movie, I was expecting a lot. Boy, am I NOT dissapointed. This the another Mel Gibson's best after Braveheart. I would say it is better than Braveheart. There were plenty of action and drama, and romance as well. This time Mel is a caring father, who went through a brutal war. After the war, he tried to forget the past and raise his children. With fate's dismay, another war is on the horizon. The war force the animal out of him to seek revange for his son's death. See the cruelty of war, see how fragile human life is during war, and see how soldiers fall in the battle field. Watch The Patriot!! Good luck.
Isn’t that cheap or what? Canon EOS 50E + Sigma 28mm – 300mm lens for only £300!!!! I spotted this offer at eBay.co.uk. This item is on auction, the final price may a little higher, or much higher depending on how hot the item is. Even at £400, this combo is worth every single penny. The body alone cost £350 (new). The lens should cost no less than £200 as well. Personally, I think the Canon EOS 300 looks better, but it is a camera for people who wish to switch to “real camera” from point & shoot, whereas the Canon EOS 50E is meant for amateur/semi-pro. The 50E is bulkier and heavier. Probably not ideal for people who are very used to point & shoot camera. If you have got friends in the US, you can ask them to bid for you, but you pay the shiipping from US to UK. The US eBay (www.eBay.com) has got hundreds of cameras on auction at any one time. The 50E is known as Elan IIe in the US. It is your call. Good luck. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=386680158
Want to buy something cheap? eBay is the perfect site. It is a site for people to sell and buy second hand goods. It is like a site just to get rid of old/unwanted stuff, without actually throwing it away. The are a lot of good stuff at a fraction of the market price, really really cheap. These items may be second hand, but at that price, you cold hardly complain. Among the action sites, I found eBay is the most extensive with the widest range of items. Beware though, dishonest seller might not ship goods after payment. Try it out. Good luck.
ICQ – get connected Why is everybody using ICQ? What’s good about it? Doesn’t e-mail gets the job done? I managed to convinced all my friends to join ICQ, including those in my office, there must some good about this popular software. ICQ is useful both for work and for fun. The concept is easy. It is a software that tells you who is online, and you are able to send short messages to that person immediately. The receiving end will hear a sound and a flashing icon to indicates incoming message. He then could reply immediately as well. This makes ICQ really useful for short immediate messages. Immediate is the main weakness of e-mail. For fun, you could “talk” to friends thousands of miles a part. For work, you could send message to colleagues to inform meeting starts in 5 minutes. The use of ICQ is sooo wide. So, if the world is online do I see the whole world? Nope, you see only those people you choose to see. If you add your friend to your list, you’ll see him when he is online, and vice versa. For privacy, you could choose to go into invisible mode where you see others but not them seeing you. If you need to send a message, you invisibility will be removed at the receiving end. Such neat feature makes ICQ product and fun, yet not disturbing. Download at www.icq.com Good luck.
I am a frequent flyer, mostly flying to and fro Europe and Asia. Off all the Airlines I flew with, Malaysian Airline is probably the best. First of all, it does direct flight between Kuala Lumpur and London, all in 16 hours, in modern Boeing 747-400 aircraft. Each passenger has their own personal TV. Everybody gets to pick their movie of choice from a list of recent box office. I usually watch 2 movies of my choice. Then spent some time sleeping. Towards the end, I watch some talk show or documentary stuff. When I am bored, I play games. YES, you get to play computer games from your personal TV. It is unlike those boring flight where you hope the aircraft flies at light speed. The food is top of the class as well. You will be served a couple of meals (not snack). During sleeping hours, the air stewardess walks around to delivery water and sandwiches to those counting sheeps. Such service is rare on other airlines. It is as those the air stewardess do not sleep at all. What's more? The air stewardess is young. Some are pretty, most are above average. One more thing, they present extensive flight info as well, like flight path, speed, temprature, local at destination, etc. Being informed makes you feel important. Good luck.
Need opinion? Wanna read other people's opinion and get paid for reading it? Dooyoo.co.uk is the perfect place. This is how is work: You get paid when you write an opinion (75 words or more). You get paid when you read an opinion (by giving it 1 - 4 rating). You get paid when others read you opinion... Bottom line is, which ever is the situation, you get paid!!! How much? £0.50 for writing opinion, £0.05 for being read by others', and £0.01 for reading others'. You get paid when you've accumulated £50. How much would you earn for spending 15 minutes a day at dooyoo.co.uk? Say in that 15 minutes, you wrote an opinion, read 5 opinions. Assume that each of your opinion is being read 5 times. You get =====> £24 per month. However this is very conservative estimation, most get more than £24. If you are hard working, and write high quality opinions, you can easily get £50 per month. No sweat! Try it out today. Good luck.
Ever encounter this scenario: Found some really good stuff. Clicked to download. Download is really slow. Almost done, few most percent to completion. Hah, 1 more percent to completion... what!!! The download ended at 99%!!! You got an useless incomplete file on your hardisk. You are forced to go through this painful download process again. GetRight is here to rescue. It does the magical thing of getting that last 1% for you. Whenever a download is broken for some unknown reason, you can resume download using GetRight. This makes life of us download addicts really easy :-) Once installed, the next time you make a download, GetRight's "Save as" window will appear (instead of the usual one). Select the location to save, and off you go. You can count on GetRight for 100% download. If there is any unfortunate events like being disconnected, GetRight will resume at where it left off the after you reconnect. This is especially useful for downloading MP3 at sluggish sites. Another cool trick is to download multiple MP3 at once. Just keep on clicking of those MP3 files, GetRight will take each of them gracefully. I tried downloading 20 MP3 files at once. It took a long time to complete, but all 100% downloaded with glitch. I can even press on the pause button to have smoother surfing, then resume download when I am watching TV. Happy downloading. Good luck.
I made a day trip to Statue of Liberty recently. It is located on an island not far from Manhattan Island, where the glamorous New York City is build on. From Manhattan Island, you take a ferry ride for about 20 minutes. The queue of quite long. I was standing under the sun for 30 minutes. Apply sun-block, there are more sunshine to come! Hot it may be, there boring it is not. There were a lot of street artists performing. I saw free acrobatic performance for 20 minutes!! While on the ferry, besure to go to the top floor, and occupy a seat just next to the side. You be glad to have nice view for taking picture, and without people blocking. The best view of the statue is taken from here, on the ferry. Once on the island, is it impossible to capture a complete view of the statue. There are people selling drinks, really huge one, contained in a plastic glass of the shape of Lady Liberty. I think it is 1.5 feet in height!! After making circle around the statue, start to queue up to go up to the crown. This will test you patient as the queue is usually very long, but the trip up is worth it. Then visit the souvenir shop and off you go. Good luck.
Windows 2000 is one of the best operating system ever released by Microsoft. I have used every single Microsoft's operating system there is: MS-DOS 2.10/6.22, Windows 3.0/3.1, Windows 95/95ORS2, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98/98SE, and I am finally satisfied with Windows 2000. To me, Win 2000 incorporates Windows 98's hardware friendly PnP and Windows NT's stability. I have been using Win NT for about a year, there were very few crashes. Even if this happens, only the culprit application is terminated, without the rest being affected. Then I switched to Win98SE to be able to use new hardware and play games. The price I paid is frequent crashes and multiple restart. Sometimes as often as twice a day (I used my for more than 10 hours a day, both for work and leisure). Not to mention valuable work lost. I missed NT's stability so much, but can't afford to switch back simply because hardware support is too weak. Then came Windows 2000, which solves all these problems. The plug & play feature makes Win2000 hardware friendly. In fact, Win2000 seems to be more stable than Win NT. Also, it is faster, even faster than Win98. Driver for some hardware is still missing, but this is due to manufacturers' laziness. I am still waiting for Logitech QuickCam's Win2000 driver, which Logitech promised to delivery b4 end of May 2000 (another empty promise). Win2000 is also expensive. All in all, the upgrade is worth it. When more drivers are out, Win2000 will be the perfect OS. Good luck.
Can you believe it? New CPU is slower than new CPU!!! This is exactly the case for the new Cyrix III. Cyrix is no longer "Cyrix" as in the days of Pentium 166 where it is product of a company called Cyrix. VIA bought Cyrix in 1999. Some months later, VIA bought another x86 CPU company called IDT, which makes the IDT WinChip. With is VIA marks it entrance to the x86 CPU market, competing with Intel and AMD. At that time, Cyrix's next generation design was called Joshua, and IDT has their own next generation design as well. Since both designs now belongs to VIA, a decision has to be made on which one to use. As a result, Cyrix's design was rolled out first, then followed by IDT's. The thing is IDT's design can't beat Cyrix's. To add more confusion, both designs are dubbed VIA Cyrix III. The current Cyrix III is based on Joshua design. Later version of Cyrix III will be based on IDT's design, which will boast higher clock speed. Tests shows that Joshua 400Mhz beats IDT 533Mhz!!! The reason VIA opt for IDT's design is that it could scale all the way to the 700Mhz region, which Joshua can't. For more info, visit http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/00q2/000630/index.html Good luck.
I store every single e-mail I send and received. You never know when you'll need some of the information contain in deleted e-mails. The best way is to retain all of them. E-mails take up very little space, especially in today's multiple gigabyte hardisk. However, with Yahoo! Mail's 3Mb limitation, this is not a viable option. The best way is to download e-mails to your PC via POP3, so that you can access your Yahoo! Mails using an e-mail client like Outlook Express. POP3 service is free with Yahoo!, but you'll get advertisement e-mails in exchange for this service. To avoid this, setup another web mail account, say HotMail. Then ask Yahoo! Mail to deliver those advert e-mails to HotMail. There you go, free POP3 web mail account with no advertisement e-mails.
