This 'centre' incorporates a Braun Uktra Plaque remover - enthusiastically reviewed elsewhere and an impressive improvement on their previous model - great mouth feel after use. There is also a Braun Oral-B Oxyjet. The Oxyjet has a tank for water, plus mouthwash if you wish, and a jet tool which has variable pressure and can operate as a fine jet or a rotating stream - cone shaped - of water and micro air bubbles which are said to reduce bacteria and bleeding due to gingevitis. I think that the whole setup is a splendid product and the best that they have produced to date for a clean mouth. My old dentist was very enthusiastic about water jets but my new one is a bit iffy and thinks that they are OK probably as long as you floss as well. I used to get quite a lot of bleeding due to gingevitis but then used the waterpic with 10 ml of'Corsodyl mouthwash' in the water and it stopped completely. The jet gets the stuff down below the gumline. A special offer at Boots tempted me to buy it was down to £80 and then I got Advantage points as well. Minor gripes is the design which used to be a Braun hallmark. Their first centre looked great and the second ones OK but this one seems to have lost elegance. There is a button on the front printed 'air filter' which dosn't do anything. The waterjet on/off is on the base rather then the handset and the switch for the jet to go from fine jet to cone is by the nossel and quite an unattractive solution.

My fine Bosch white simple kettle deveoped a leak and so they sold me -cheap- their new posh one (I think now sold under Siemens lable) I won't slander them here but say that it was a very poor design and they refunded my money. I searched for a new kettle of simple design and was not enamoured of much on the market.I liked the Bodum but quality yuk. I saw this new Braun kettle at Amsterdam airport - but the shop was closed. Eventually I traced Braun and they told me that it was on sale at Index catalogue shop at a special price c £28. I think it's normal retail is about £32. This is a great elegant pleasure to use kettle. I actually wrote to Braun to congratulate them on the design. This was a first for me but I am now retired and have time. What can I say? To me it looks good and handles well - sort of feels good and substantial even though it is two tone granite coloured plastic. It does everything easily and efficiently and with 3kw boils really quickly albeit a trifle noisy - I'm not sure what I do with the time that I save? They do a white model but it's only 2.2kw I think - it's probably quieter! I must admit to being a Braun fan for years - more so pre Gilette - and find this kettle a very fine product.
