I have loved fizzy drinks ever since I can remember and Diet Coke would definitely have to be one of my favourites. I have been drinking it for years, sometimes up to four cans a day. I think I may be a little bit addicted to it.
Ever since I have become pregnant however, I have cut this down to on average one can a day which was hard going! Caffeine is not good for pregnant women as it can cause low weight or premature babies so drink it in moderation if you are expecting.
If you have never had Diet Coke, it is a soft drink with flavourings and sweeteners added to it. It is not the healthiest drink ever as water has been known to hydrate you quicker but I love it and have always thought it is delicious. I always drink my cans straight out of the fridge as I love my drinks really icy cold. This drink doesnt taste half as nice when not chilled and when warm, it is just plain disgusting.
I usually have it at home in a tall glass with ice and if I have some in the house, I add a little wedge of lemon to it. I love how refreshing the taste of this drink is. Sometimes when I havent had some over a long time, say more than one day, then I would get cranky and really crave it. I think this shows that it is a really addictive drink.
Diet Coke is available in bottles and cans and is one of the most popular and best selling drinks worldwide. I like keeping a 500ml bottle of Diet Coke in my bag when I am out and about shopping as I find it handy to quench my thirst a little and cool me down a bit. It is also a very low calorie soft drink and for years has been popular with dieters.
I remember though when I joined a gym a few years ago, the fitness instructor told me that Diet Coke was one of the worst drinks to have and that even full fat coke was better to drink. I found this a little bit strange at the time but recent evidence has shown that diet soft drinks can expand your waist more than their sugary equivalents.
I think that I will probably always drink Diet Coke as I am so used to drinking it now that its almost become a way of life for me and I love the little kick that it gives me! Available in most good supermarkets and shops. Prices vary from around 50p for a 330ml can up to £2.50 for a 2 litre bottle.
Since I have got engaged I have turned into a bit of a domestic goddess (dont laugh!) and have been dong loads of home cooking and baking in a bid to save some money. I will admit that I am not the best cook in the world but have been giving it a go and enjoying it a lot. I was moaning one day to my fiance that I wanted to get Cookworks Signature Silicone Baking Kit as I loved the look of it but was a bit skint.
I dont know if it was because he was tired of me moaning about it (probably this reason) or wanted me to make him some buns but he bought me it and gave me it as a little gift. I was really delighted with it as I had wanted it for a while and as red is one of my favourite colours, this was the first thing that really attracted me to it. It is available from Argos and costs £19.99 which I personally think is worth every penny now that I have been using it quite a lot.
The set comes with 2 Sandwich tins (20cm diameter), a 1Ib loaf tin - 27 x 12 x 6.5cm and 2 x 6 muffin tins - 28.5x 19 x 5cm. I dont really make many loafs to be honest so would use the sandwich and muffin tins the most. They are silicone so are soft to the the touch and feel really bouncy and rubbery unlike normal boring cake tins which are hard to the touch.
The thing that I completely love about these is the fact that nothing sticks to them - hooray! I have lost count of the number of cake disasters I have had where I have spent ages making a cake only for it to stick itself selfishly to the bottom of the tin and leave me with something resembling a crumbly mess more than an actual cake.
Equally hateful is trying to scrape the burnt on cake off the bottom of the pan when it has decided to cling onto it for dear life. No amount of soaking usually works in my case so I have been known to attack the bottom of the tin with a knife, not very attractive and a right pain! So anyway, this set is amazing! I have not baked one single thing in them that has stuck whatsoever and I actually look like I know what I am doing when out pops nice spongy muffins ready to eat and not crumbling into bits. Oh what I would have given to have this set years ago!
They are also really easy to clean and literally they just need a quick rinse in warm soapy water and they are as good as new again, no attacking them with a knife to scrape off any crud. Having this set has actually made me want to bake more as I feel more confident using them than a normal metal tin. They are also dishwasher safe ( now all I need is a dishwasher!) and have a 5 year guarantee which I am pretty confident I will not even need.
My only criticism about this set is that as they are made of silicone and a lot more floppy and bouncy than a metal tin, they are a little tricky at first to get in the oven without spilling the mixture but in my opinion, this is a small price to pay as I feel it doesnt take long to master and the cons definitely outweigh the pros. I would recommend this set to anyone who likes baking or buy it for your other half and try to get them to make you some yummy muffins.
Weetabix the wholegrain cereal
Available from most good shops and supermarkets
Cereal biscuits which come in various different sized boxes according to your needs and the size of your family. I usually buy the huge family value box of 72 Weetabix as I find they last a lot longer and are more economical than the smaller boxes. The box of 72 costs around £4.80 but if you usually only have a bowl with two in it, this is effectively 36 breakfasts or snacks.
I love Weetabix and always have done ever since I have been a young child. There are several different ways to enjoy them. I eat them not only for breakfast but as a snack throughout the day too. Sometimes I have them with cold skimmed milk and some sweetener on the top as they are very low in fat and filling too which is great for dieters.
I love how its easy just to throw 2 biscuits in a bowl and there is no annoying measuring to check the calories in the cereal each time. I also sometimes eat them heated up in the microwave with warm milk and this is my favourite way to eat them as they are so warming and moreish this way that I usually end up having four weetabix when heating them up as it tastes like a lovely satisfying bowl of comfort food to me.
They can also be eaten with some fruit or yoghurt poured on top, I myself love having them the odd time with a sliced banana on top as it is healthy, really filling and delicious. Its also wholegrain which means that I know its not going to give me a sugar buzz and then leave me feeling tired later in the day. It releases evergy gradually to keep your blood sugar levels up. I also find sometimes if I am really tired and have had a long day that they are brilliant to eat without having to spend ages standing in the kitchen cooking something which is really something I dont want to do wnen I have been rushing around all day.
I have also been trying to eat more Weetabix since I have been pregnant as they are a good source of folic acid which is great for the baby and I find a bowl of these makes me less likely to pick at something unhealthy later in tme morning as they fill me up and leave me feeling satisfied until lunchtime.

All in all, I think this is a brilliant way to start the day and a fantastic cereal. It is suitable for vegetarians and is really versatile as it can be eaten with so many different things, it is a great way to keep the whole family happy. Its also high in fibre and has added vitamins and irons and is delicious to boot. There are not many cereals that I love as much as this one and I am pretty sure that it will continue to be a family favourite for me.
What is it?
Well, its called Utterly Butterly and comes in a yellow 500 gram tub and is a spread made with buttermilk. It contains 70% less saturated fat than butter and is meant to be good for buttering your toast & bread rolls, cooking with and using for baking. It contains no hydrogenated fats and no trans fatty acids. Sounds good doesnt it? Well heres what I thought
Did I like it?
I am a massive toast fan and love carbs so I can go through 8-10 rounds of bread a day eating toast as its so delicious. I first spotted Utterly Butterly in the supermarket and the moneysaver in me decided to try it as it was on a buy one get one free. The tubs in my opinion look quite large and I have been buying this product for months if not over a year and I find that even though I eat a lot of toast, it seems to last me for ages.
If I get a BOGOF, I just stick one of the tubs in the freezer and defrost it when needed. I love the taste of this spread and think that it is completely delicious. The packaging is eye catching and brightens up my fridge and the taste is gorgeous.
It spreads really easily on bread and toast and doesnt seem to make the bread fall into bits as it isnt too hard or too soft which is great. It melts nice and quickly on my toast and when I bite into the bread, I love the creamy light taste of this spread. I think in a blind taste test, I would not be able to tell that it wasnt butter as it is so smooth and creamy and tastes very similar to butter in my opinion. I love how competitively priced it is and how it spreads great on warm and cold bread. I have also used this spread on pancakes which is goes beautifully with and when cooking a fry up, I sometimes use it when I run out of oil and it works a treat.
I would recommend this product as it is just delicious and I love how it tastes so similar to butter but is obviously a lot healthier than butter is. I can eat it on my toast without feeling as guilty about the calories and fat as I normally would do and the smooth and creamy tastes just takes me back to the fridge for it again and again.
100 grams of this spread provides 452 calories. Available in most good shops and supermarkets. Currently on offer in Tesco for £1.80 on a buy one get one free offer.
I make sure that every morning when I wake - up, I go and have something to eat straight away. I am pregnant and have been suffering from morning sickness and have found that if I eat something straight after getting out of bed, it raises my blood sugar and I feel less sick than I would have done on an empty stomach. I have recently been eating a lot of Nutrigrain bars as they are on offer for only 25p each in my local shop which I thought was a total bargain as I have seen them in some places before for 70p each.
I have been eating the Apple flavoured bars and have found that they have been brilliant at curbing my morning sickness and have found that they are really filling too which is brilliant as they keep me going until lunchtime or just before it which is great. Nutrigrain bars are soft oaty bars filled with fruit in the middle and are made by Kelloggs.
Each bars is 37 grams and is quite thick when taken out of the packet. Compared to other cereal bars, these are about 3 times as thick and are really oaty and moreish. I love how when I bite into one of these, it tastes delicious and like I am eating something relatively healthy for me and it is a proper sized cereal bar in my opinion.
The apple centre is lovely and fruity and nice and sweet. It is not overly sweet or sickening but just full of lovely flavour. If you like apples, I am sure that you would really enjoy this bar. It has no artificial colours or flavours either which is brilliant and has only 133 calories per bar. I think that this is really good for those following a calorie controlled diet as it is something that isnt really fattening that is going to fill you up for most of the morning.
I love how this bar also contains folic acid which is great for me as I need to eat products containing folic acid as I am pregnant. A bar also contains 25% of your recommended daily allowance of calcium and 17% of iron too which is great. I love Nutrigrain bars and think that they are the perfect breakfast snack for when you dont have time to cook something else.
They are also great to stick in your lunchbox for work or school and you can keep them in your bag for a snack to boost your blood sugar levels at anytime of the day. Well recommended as they are tasty, filling and really moreish. Available in most good shops and supermarkets. Tesco currently have them on offer costing £3 for two boxes.
I am more of a lover of chocolate and sweet stuff than I am of savoury stuff so I wouldnt eat a lot of crisps, I just take the notion to eat them occassionally. Today I opted for a couple of packets of Space Raiders Pickled Onion flavour.
They come in small packets and the good thing is that they are a lot healthier than they used to be as they are baked in sunflower oil and not fried so have less saturated fat. These would be good to treat yourself to if you are trying to lose weight.
Space Raiders crisps have been sold for years and I have always loved the strong pickled onion taste of them as they always tickle my tastebuds and are really moreish. The packets used to be 10p each and are now up to 15p but as the packets are so small, I usually have two packets in one sitting.
I also find that although they are tasty, they are not very filling so I see them as just a small snack and one packet is never enough for me.
The crisps are shaped like an aliens head and are really crispy and tasty. They are quite strong smelling so be aware that if you are eating these on the bus, you may get a few funny looks and you should keep a packet of chewing gum handy to keep your breath fresh after eating these.
These crisps are made by KP snacks and are available in most good supermarkets and grocery shops. These crisps can make your mouth quite dry so I always make sure I have a drink with me when I am eating these.
A packet of these contains only 61 calories and 0.3 grams of fat so they are great for the calorie conscious. They contain wheat and gluten so you may want to avoid them if you have any allergies.
I would fully recommend these crisps to anyone who likes strong flavours and has a savoury tooth. They are a great size to keep in your lunchbox or your bag so they are good to have with you when you are out and about.
I was buying some gifts for my friends new baby in a baby shop close to my home when I spotted Lamaze Freddie Firefly. I thought that it was really cute and very colourful and decided to buy it for her. It cost me £8 which I thought was an ok price as it was on offer and was so adorable I couldnt resist. My friends baby starting playing with it when she was about 6 months old as we thought she might have been a bit too young for it previous to that.
When her mother first showed it to her, her whole little face lit up and she grabbed it and hardly wanted to let it go. She plays with it all the time and my friend has told me it is one of her daughters favourite toys. Its a soft toy so comfortable for baby to hold and cuddle and has lots of different textures to it which is brilliant as the baby seems to love the feel of it in her hands.
My favourite thing about it though after the colour is the cute little mirror on it. The baby loves looking in it and giggles everytime she sees her reflection in it. To clean, my friend wipes it down well with a cloth and soapy water and lets it air dry before giving it back to the baby.
It has a squeak toy and is even good to use when the baby is teething. The baby loves this toy and it keeps her entertained for hours playing with it, she seems to be completely fascinated by it.
My friend is annoyed that she didnt give the toy to her baby earlier than she did as she loves it so much it would have keep her entertained for months on end. The baby loves scrunching it up in her hands to hear the crinkly sound which is similar sound to bubblewrap.
I think this toy is brilliant for distracting the baby when she is crying and it seems to do the trick every time. It is so detailed and there is so many things to look at on it that I actually have fun playing with it myself. I am so glad that I bought this toy as the baby completely loves it and for the price compared to the hours of playtime I fun, I think it is excellent value for money.
I am pregnant myself with my first child and will definitely be buying one of these for my little baby as I think its a brilliant well made toy. Available from good baby shops, Ebay and other online stores.
I am almost 17 weeks pregnant with my first child and I am scared about the pregnancy and labour as I have never experienced it before so need things that will reassure me and provide me with information. My partner handed me a book recently which he had bought me online called "Your Pregnancy Bible" which is by Dr Anne Deans.
I was really excited to read it as I love reading pregnancy books and I didnt own any before this. The book is large and a hardback and is well illustrated throughout with colour pictures.
As soon as I picked up the book, I didnt want to put it down as I thought that it was brilliant. Its quite a big thick book do will tell you almost everything about pregnancy and labour. The book is so informative that I do not think I would need another pregnancy book as this provides such a wealth of information which is invaluable to me.
The book is brilliant as it starts right from trying to get pregnant and conception through all the stages of pregnancy to just after you have the baby and postnatal care. My favourite thing about the book is the breakdown of my pregnancy week by week. I was able to go to the section that is 16 and 17 weeks pregnant and check out what was happening to my body.
There is also a great section in the book about symptoms like morning sickness and heartburn which is brilliant as it tells you ways you can deal with it which has personally for me been really helpful. This book has told me so much information that I didnt already know about pregnancy and birth and I had previously thought that I was quite well read in it.
The book is written by a doctor and a number of experts too which fills me with a bit of confidence and some reassurance that the information in the book is from someone who knows what they are talking about. There is also a section in the book for the father to be to read about helping the mother during pregnancy and birth and preparing for the new arrival. I will be getting my fiancee to read this so its a brilliant resource for both parents.
One part of the book has given me huge relief as it shows how to feed a baby & make up bottles, how to bath your baby and how to change a nappy. These are all things I was really worried about as I didnt have a clue being a first time mother and now I dont feel as anxious about it. I was expecting to have to buy a seperate book about looking after your baby but was pleasantly surprised that this section was in saving me from buying another book!
I would fully recommend this book to all mother and fathers to be as I think it is an excellent invaluable resource for first time parents and anyone who is pregnant really. The RRP is £24.99 which may seem like a lot but my partner told me he got it for a lot cheaper than this price on the internet by shopping around. I think it is worth every penny and am so glad my partner bought me it.
Since I have been pregnant, I have suffered from quite dry skin especially on my lips which can easily get cracked and dry in all types of weather. I was in Boots and bought Vaseline Lip Therapy with Cocoa Butter. I love the packaging, it comes in a small funky little round tin and there is 20 grams in one tin. I know there are different varietys of this product but I was really excited about using this one as I love creams and body lotions that smell like cocoa butter so was looking forward to using this one.
I loved how this product was a really handy little size so it could be popped in a handbag, pocket or even a clutch purse for a night out so there was no excuse not to bring it everywhere with me.
It cost me £1.99 which I think is an ok price, I remember the lip therapy range being cheaper but I still think its an alright price. As I bought it in Boots, I got my advantage card points too! When I first opened it, I couldnt get over how gorgeous the smell was. It was really chocolately and rich but not too overpowering or sickly which was great.
I use it mostly on my lips as I find it makes them really soft and it gets rid of the flakes really well. It is instantly moisturising and softens my lips while making them smell amazing so it would be good to kiss someone with this on! This product is clear and isnt coloured which is great as I have found that it works really well at making my elbows and knees lovely and soft which is good.
I think this is really handy to keep with me as I can use it at anytime. Its also brilliant to use on my nails and I rub it into my cuticles to soften them before pushing them back before a manicure. It also makes my nails really shiny looking which is great.
This is a really versatile product which can be used for loads of places over the body and smells good enought to eat. I would advise watching where you leave it as I once had a tin of lip therapy that I left sitting in my garden and the heat from the sun melted it all in the tin!
I have found too that a little of this product goes a long way which is good as it lasts ages and if you use it for just your lips it could last you for months. Available in most good supermarkets and chemists. I definitely recommend this product to everyone, men & women.
I noticed recently that I had run out of one of my make-up bag essentials, mascara. I hate being wihout it and although I dont always wear a lot of make - up at once, I have to always put some mascara on before going out as it makes me look and feel a lot better. I went to my local chemist and ended up purchasing Rimmel The Max Bold Curves Mascara. The main thing that made me want to buy it was the fact that it was so eyecatching. The mascara comes in a bright green tube with pink lettering on the outside and it stood out a lot more to me than other mascaras did.
The mascara was in black which is the shade I always look for as I like my eyelashes looking nice and dark and with a wow factor. When I first went to use this mascara I noticed how small the brush was. In my opinion, this is not a bad thing as it was quite easy to hold in my hand and control so that I could avoid getting mascara under my eyes on my skin.
The mascara was really black and when I first used it, I noticed that it felt really wet on my lashes and took ten or fifteen seconds to dry. This didnt bother me as I thought the mascara itself was fantastic, it didnt appear to clump with was good but most of all I loved the effect it had on my lashes. It left them really thick and long looking with a lovely curve. It almost gave my lashes a false lash effect and was really pleased with the lovely curve of my lashes which is what I had been looking for.
This mascara definitely gave me the wow factor and made my eyes just seem to pop. It really opened my eyes up and highlighted them well. This mascara cost me around £6 and I think this is a brilliant price compared to some other mascaras which have been more expensive than this and not performed as well either. This mascara has collagen and keratin in it which is maybe what makes my eyelashes look so good.
I didnt have a problem removing my mascara at the end of the day, it came of easily with a few wipes of my eye make - up remover and didnt sting my eyes at all which has happened with other mascaras that I have used in the past.
This mascara looks great in my make - up bag and it makes me feel good using it as it is so colourful. It lasts for ages too as I have had mine for a few months and used it every day and it has still not run it. I would definitely recommend this mascara to everyone as it is very impressive, looks great and doesnt sting or irritate my sensitive eyes. Available in most good chemists and supermarkets.
Since I have been pregnant, I have had a bit of trouble with morning sickness. It is horrible and in between being sick I would use these wipes on my face and forehead to cool me down and refresh my skin. The wipes that I am referring to are Huggies Pure Wipes. They come in a yellow plastic packet with a baby on the front and each packet contains 64 wipes in it. I got them on offer in Boots and thought that they were a bit of a bargain at the time costing only £1 a packet so I made sure I stocked up on them. I have seen them in other shops costing up to £2.60 before.
The wipes are opened with a sticky label at the top which can be resealed to keep in the moisture. I found that the seal only stayed sticky for about a third of the packet and then I had to set the packet upside down instead to prevent air getting into the wipes. The wipes are folded into a square shape when you pull one out from the packet but I was impressed by how thick they were when unfolded and they were also quite large so one was enough for me to cleanse my entire face. The wipes have a cute bear on them and look and feel like very good quality wipes so I was pleased I had bought them.
Huggies claim that these wipes are "just like cotton wool and water". I agree with the fact that they feel very pure on my sensitive skin and I could even use them around my eyes and they didnt sting like some other wipes can. They are very moist wipes which is good so they can clean a large surface area at a time and seem to last longer as only one wipe is needed at a time.
With regards to taking off make-up, these wipes were not very good. Once wiping over my face, I could see some visible make - up marks left on my skin but they didnt remove all my make - up and I have to wash my face properly instead of using just these to remove my make-up as I dont think they work well enough for that purpose.
I like how refreshing and cooling these wipes are on my skin and they really perked me up inbetween my several episodes of morning sickness. They are also good on really warm days as they are good to keep in your handbag to refresh yourself throughout the day. I have also used these wipes on my hands to refresh them and they leave them feeling nice and soft.
Overall, I would recommend these wipes and think they work well on sensitive skin and were great for me as I didnt notice any perfumed smells of them which would have made my morning sickness worse as smells really make me feel sick. Good sized packet of long lasting wipes which I would use on my baby when it arrives as Huggies to me is a tried and tested and well trusted brand.
I usually have very strong nails and since I have been pregnant and eating a lot more healthily, my nails have gone from strength to strength. They grow very quickly and are really strong and healthy at the moment so I thought that I would make the most of them by painting them and giving myself a little lift. I had heard about Barry M Instant Nail Effects for ages and really wanted to try it as I thought the idea sounded great and was really interested to see what it would turn out like.
I bought two bottles of instant nails effects, one in pink and one in black. Each bottle contains 10ml and I paid £3.99 each for them in Boots. The good thing was that I used my Boots advantage card points to get them so technically they were both free! When I got them home & after a well deserved cup of tea and sit down I got to work. The instructions tell you to first apply your chosen base colour which for me was a Nails Inc nail colour. The colour I used as my base was quite a dark red colour so I put this on and waited about 15 minutes to make sure that my nails were completely dry.
As soon as I saw they were well dried, I opened my bottle of Barry M Instant Nail Effects. I decided to use the pink polish as I was interested to see what the contrast would be like between the dark red on my nails and a baby pink colour. As soon as I took the brush out and started to stroke it up my first nail, I was a bit disappointed by the fact that the polish seemed to dry too quickly in order to give me time to cover a full nail at once. The polish didnt go on very smoothly either, I actually found that I had to drag it up my nails to cover each nail and had to keep loading up the brush every few seconds which was a bit irritating. The colour cracked almost instantly upon drying and left the dark red colour showing through in parts and the pink polish on the top had a very cracked appearance and looked like I had been sitting picking bits of nail polish of my nail.
I like my nails to look flawless when I paint them and love them to have a real shine but the Barry M polish left my nails feeling very rough and were really dry looking too. They didnt have the pretty shine and sheen that I expect from my nail polish when I have spent time painting my nails. I think it would take a bit of practice using this nail polish to get the thin cracked look just right. As this was my first time using it, I didnt realise that a thick coat of Barry M meant that it completely almost covered the dark red underneath and looked very shabby. I have done my nails a few times with this and I have found that it is better to try and put on one really thin coat of polish as it looks a little bit better this way. I also used a clear top coat over my nails but this didnt really make my nails feel any smoother which was a little disappointing and I dont like how Barry M sits in ridges all over my nails either.
I was quite disappointed with this item as I had very high expectations for it after hearing some good reports but didnt like the way it made my nails look very rough and shabby. It looked like I had nails that the paint had been peeling off for a while and I was too lazy to use nail polish remover. I dont want my nails to look this untidy and thought that this polish would have gave my nails a more professional look which in the end it didnt. I also didnt notice a huge contrast between the two colours on my nails which I thought there would have been. The other colour that I have is black so I may try it with a yellow colour underneath to see if it looks bolder but I dont think I like the rough shabby effect of the polish at all.
I am a little annoyed that I got two bottles of this at once as I think now I would have been better just getting the one bottle to try it incase I didnt like it which in this case I didnt. I think I will keep the bottles to try different effects on my toenails to see if that is any different and looks any better but I am not really expecting it to be. Instant effects yes but not professional looking enough for me.
I suffer from breakouts occassionally and like pampering myself like most girls so thought that I would buy this facial steamer to help clean out my pores and make my skin a little bit clearer. The steamer is made by Visiq and is available from Argos and a lot of other similar retailers. It was a bargain in my opinion at only £9.99 as a lot of other facial steamers can be very expensive.
To use the steamer, you need to add water to it to create the steam and plug it in and switch it on. It heats up quite quickly and I have used it a few times with a few drops of tea tree oil in the water which has been brilliant. I usually use this on my face for about 5-7 minutes once a week as part of my skincare routine and afterwards splash my face with cold water to close my pores.
I love how it makes my skin feel really deep down clean and feels like all the gunk has came out of my skin after using it. When using this, it can make you feel really hot and the steam can be really hot on your skin so be careful you do not put your face to close into it to avoid burning.
This product is not only brilliant for cleansing the skin but also works well if you have a cold or bad chest infection as it helps to clear out your sinuses a little bit. I used it once with a little menthol in the water when I had the cold and it got rid of it very quickly and worked a treat. Its great too as you do not need much water in it to cleanse your skin. I find that if it gets too hot, its easy just to move it away a little to a more comfortable position or you can turn it down to a lower setting.
This item is really easy to use and is excellent value for money. Its really easy to clean too, I just empty any excess water out of mine when I have finished using it and wipe over the rest of it with a soft cloth and it is like new again. It comes with an inhaler too which is great to use just for clearing out your nose and sinuses which is brilliant. I have used this too in my bedroom at night with a few drops of lavender oil in it and found that I slept a little bit better.
This is such a great item with many uses and brilliant for the skin, colds, flus and fragrancing your home. I think it is a complete bargain and works just as well as the more expensive steamers you can buy.
I am a huge chocoholic but have had to limit my intake since I became pregnant. Today though, I took a real notion for a packet of Minstrels and just had to have them! Minstrels are made by Galaxy which has got to be my favourite chocolate as it is usually so creamy and gorgeous!
When I bought a small packet of these, they cost me a ridiculous 68p! I couldnt believe how expensive they were but I bought them in a small local garage. You may be able to get them cheaper if you shop around in the supermarkets.
Minstrels are small like circular chocolates that have a crisp outer chocolate shell and a smooth chocolate inside. When I opened my packet today, I was really disappointed as there were hardly any chocolates in the packet so I felt a little bit ripped off.
When I tasted the Minstrels, they were really moreish and the chocolate was very rich and lovely and creamy. I loved the taste of them but I had to really savour each one as the amount in the packet was really miserable and not really worth the money. I think from now on I will go for the bigger family sized packets as they would probably work out a lot better value for money.
Minstrels are quite calorific and fattening so they are best to be eaten in moderation. I would recommend them but only in the larger better value packets if you can get a good deal on them in the supermarket.
I am not a big fan of seafood but I do love going to the chip shop for an occassional treat to get myself a lovely big fish supper. I was in Tesco recently and buying some groceries and came across Youngs Chip Shop Large Cod Fillets. They come in a cardboard box and inside are four large fillets. They normally cost around around £3.94 but I think mine were on offer so were slightly cheaper than this. I cant remember the exact price as I bought so many things that day!
The cod fillets are done in the oven and when I took them out of the box, they looked like huge yellow frozen slabs of something. They didnt look very appetising in their frozen state but what does! I was pleasantly surprised by the size of them and they were around the same size as the cod fillets in my local chip shop so I was impressed. After heating in the oven, I took them out being careful with them as they seemed like they would break into several pieces very easily if not taken carefully out of the oven onto my plate.
The batter was a lovely deep golden brown colour and when I put my fork into it, I noticed there was a lot of fish in it which was lovely and flaky and really white. Some cheaper fish fillets have had more batter than fish in my experience which is really disappointing but these cod fillets had loads of lovely white fish in them. The batter just melted in my mouth and was crispy but not overly so. The fish was really flaky and delicious. It wasnt greasy at all like some cod fillets and tasted really lovely.
This fish may contain bones but I was careful eating mine and I was lucky not to find any bones at all in mine and neither did my partner. This is the tastiest fish I have had from a shop and the only one that has ever came close to tasting as good as the cod fillets in my local chippy. If I wasnt having a fish supper from the chip shop, I would go for this one every time as it is delicious and in my opinion very good value for money.
This product is widely available in most major supermarkets and shops and I would recommend it to anyone as it is so tasty!
