Soap and Glory's The Daily Smooth Body Butter.
I am a fan of the Soap and Glory range and received the Body Butter in a gift set at Christmas. It promises " amazingly - effective dry skin formula " . I do have dry skin so was hoping it lived upto this bold statement. It did! I apply this body butter once a week after having my weekly weekend beauty session (face pack, legs shaved, long hot bath etc etc). A good spodge does do most of my body. I massage it in and it does absorb well into the skin considering it is quite thick in consistency. It is not at all greasy like other lotions and body butters can be.
The body butter does have Rosehip Seed Oil and Cocoa Butter which i think helps aid dry skin. It leaves my skin soft, with a nice glow and i love the scent of my skin after using. The butter is scented with Soap and Glorys "Mist you Madly" fragrance and carries notes of beautiful Bergamont, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla and Musk.
At £8.00 for a 250 ml it does seem expensive but a little goes a long way with this product and the price tag is well worth it. Soap and Glory products are regularly on offer at Boots.
Thank you for reading.
Soap and Glory Clean on Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel
The shower gel is available from Boots the Chemist in 2 sizes - a mini travel size or a large 500ml bottle. I am reviewing the supersize 500ml bottle which comes with a pump so is easy to use and get accurate amount of gel out leaving no wastage. I brought mine when there was a offer on but the usual price in Boots for this product is £5.00 for the 500ml. Sounds pricey for a shower gel but it last ages. I use mine daily and still have 1/2 bottle left and i have been using it for 2 - 3 months!!!!
I apply a handful of Clean On Me to wet skin, rub it and it turns into a thick, luxurious lather. Then rinse. The brand describe it as a gel but i think it feels more like a lotion. It is creamy and thick in consistency. It leaves your skin super silky soft due to it having natural mandarin peel extract and built in body lotion.
It is fragranced with Soap & Glory's addictive signature which i love. Light, floral and very girly.
I always follow with Soap & Glory's The Righteous Body Butter and if i am going out the Easy Glistening Dry Oil Body Gloss.
"Soap & Glory formulas are not tested on animals, only very picky people."
Thank you for reading.

Take Pixars technical excellence and sharp wit and add it to traditional Disney type story and you get a wonderful family film.
A young clown fish (Nemo) gets captured by scuba divers and put into a tropical fish tank in a dentists surgery. His neurotic and over-protective father, Marlin, filled with despair and guilt at letting his son get captured resolves to leave the safety of the reef and track down and rescue his son. Picking up a truly scatter brained companion on the way, Dory, Marlin has a fast paced adventure on his determined travels. Meanwhile, the plucky little Nemo, with encouragement from the other aquarium fish, is equally determined to escape and return home.
There are numerous superb animal characters - the usual mix of goodies and baddies, funny bits, sad bits and the imagery is stunning. I wish I had seen this on a large cinema screen for an even better effect.
one of the best Pixar films. It is definitely aimed at a younger audience, but definitely the best of it's genre and will become a classic Disney film. Virtually faultless, no family home should be without a copy.
School Of Rock
" Jack Black plays unemployed slob and hell-raising guitarist Dewey Finn, who needs to make a few fast bucks after being kicked out of his rock band. Posing as his reformed rocker-come-substitute teacher flatmate, he falls into teaching a class of prepubescent stiffs. After over hearing the kids practice in their school orchestra, Finn decides to teach the kids "the power of rock", and fulfil his life long dream of entering the Battle of the Bands competition. "

This film is fantastic for two reasons. Firstly, you would never believe Jack Black is acting, you can clearly see the love of both acting and music he portrays throughout this film. The film shows him as Dewey Finn posing as a teacher firstly trying to make enough money to pay the rent on his apartment and bills. He then realises that the kids in the class have amazing music ability and sets about creating a band for a contest.
In true American soppiness the entire class get involved, and there are hilarious scenes with Joan Cusack who plays the headteacher as they try and hide their "school project" from everyone.
The film is made better by the fact the performance and filming of the signature tune is excellent and the tune itself is excellent and catchy. All the kids actually played the instruments and were casted because of their excellent musical ability. Because of this some of the kids acting is not brilliant but Black carries the show.
It's a movie you can't help but enjoy, and watch from time to time and get a nice buzz from it. Every Jack Black movie is great, this is his first major lead movie.
It's a film that both you and your kids will enjoy. Fab family fun.
I brought our's for £2.99 from Play.com so it is worth shopping around.
Enjoy and thank you for reading.
The Game of Quick Draw
" Bite your lip, don't say the word, just draw it! Pictionary is the game where your pencil does the talking. You and your team try to guess words by sketching clues to each other.
It could be a place, a person, something you do, something easy, something hard! It's a race against the clock. Sketch what you want them to say or scribble it down in a series of clues - tease it out until they shriek it out!
Now with a challenge die for more ways to play and to add an exciting twist to this ever popular game. "
Recommended age 12 years up wards.
Inside the box:
206 Pictionary cards and holder
Pen and paper so you can start the fun straightaway
Counters and Dice
For 2 to 4 teams or players
Manufacturers recommended age is 12 years plus but my 7 year old and 10 year old both do play with us on a team.
This game gets the brain cells working in a fun way. You do not have to be arty. In fact the worse you are at drawing the more fun it is.
Great game for all your friends and family. Group up in teams and get sketching! Highly amusing depending on how competetent the sketcher is. Sometimes the more incompetent the drawer the more hilarious the results! Suitable for all ages. I'm saying its educational in that kids will improve their sketching abilities if it means they can win the game! Also some tasks you are set to draw force you to think outside the box, "how best could I approach this so my team grasp what I'm on about?!"
Some are easy ("ironing board") while some are tough ("justice"). A family gun addition to any games cupboard.
Super Mario Bros.Wii
New Super Mario Bros. Wii offers a combination of cooperation and competition. Players can pick each other up to save them from danger or toss them into it.
Mario, Luigi and two Toads are all playable characters, while many others from the Mushroom Kingdom make appearances throughout the game. Players can even ride different Yoshi characters and use their tongues to swallow enemies - or their fellow players.
In some areas, players use the motion abilities of the Wii Remote controller. The first player to reach a seesaw might make it tilt to help his or her character reach a higher platform - and then tilt it incorrectly just to mess with other players.
New items include the propeller suit, which will shoot players high into the sky with just a shake of the Wii Remote and Mario's new ability to transform into Penguin Mario.
At the end of each stage during the simultaneous multiplayer mode, players are ranked based on their score, the coins collected and the number of enemies defeated.
We love playing games as a family so got this to play with our children. Also my husband both grew up playing Mario on the nintendo 64 so it was a bit of nostalgia for us too. We purchased this game from Play.com for approx £30.
We have become so addicted to this game. We have been playing the game on multiplayer which is both amazingly fun and very frustrating in equal measure but unlike any gameplay ive played before in the way that you have to work together to complete levels.
The yoshis are an awesome part of the game we have played the first yoshi level a stupid amount of times and enjoy eating each other and then spitting people of cliffs or into enemies just for the fun of it.
The game is also very good on single player but its definately more fun on multiplayer, also if you are not so good at computer games if you die on multiplayer you come back in a bubble and your friends can save you so its good for all ability gamers and ages from my 7 year old upwards.
The best game i have played on the wii for sure.
Being a big fan of the scent of most of Johnsons baby products it seemed natural to try these when my daughter was born.
The pack i brought has 64 wipes and costs at full price approx £2.50p. Each wipe costing just under 4p each.
On appearance the product is rectangle in shape. The packaging is predominantly baby pink with some baby blue and carries the well know Johnsons logo with the promise of their no more tears formula. There is also a cute photo of a baby on the right hand side of the packet.
You access the wipes by pulling back the clear peel on top of the packet. This does reseal after you have took wipes out and does keep the remaining wipes moist and useable even after several peeling backs.
The wipe are white and quite strong and thick. They do smell of the same scent as the rest of their range. They seemed kind to the skin and have never caused any irriation to my daugher who does have sensitive skin and eczema. I have also on occasion used them as a make up remover on myself when i have been to tired to remove my make up with my usual beauty regime.
The wipes seem to handle most messes that your baby or toddler can get theirselves into. They are handy to have at home, in the car or on the go. I even use them on my older children when they need a freshen up or clean on their hands and faces.
I highly recommend these wipes and feel they are superior to supermarkets own make and other main competitors. I would also recommend keeping a eye out for special offers as i frequently see them at half price or on buy one get one free in supermarkets and chemists.
Jodi Piccoult's Vanishing Acts
" Why would a man who loved his wife - so much that in the quarter century since her death, he hasn't found someone to take her place - why wouldn't he have a record of the life he'd had with her, of the baby they'd made?
Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. Raised in rural New Hampshire by her widowed father Andrew, she now has a young daughter, a handsome fiancé, and her own Search and Rescue bloodhound, which she uses to find missing persons.
But as Delia plans her wedding, she is plagued by flashbacks of a life she can't recall. And then a policeman knocks at her door, and her world fractures into something unrecognisable.
In shock and confusion, Delia must search for the truth among her newly discovered memories - even when they threaten to devastate her life, and the lives of those she loves most. "
I am a really big Jodi Piccoult fan and havent read a book of her's i have not liked yet. Everytime i get one of her books i make sure i have a couple days clear as i know i wont be able to put the book down until i had read the whole novel. was this on par of her other books - i dont think it was.
It just did not grip me like her other novels. I found i could put the book down. The storyline could of been quite good but i just feel the characters were not very sympathetic and i found myself not really caring what happened to them as the novel advanced. In her other books i would be laughing and crying with the characters but it just did not work for me this time round.

Oatifix Fresh Face Mask from Lush.
£5.25 for 75g - Price correct as of 31st Jan 2011.
Glycerine, Fine Oatmeal (Avena sativa), Fresh Organic Bananas (Musa paradisiaca), Water (Aqua), Ground Almonds (Prunus dulcis), Illipe Butter (Shorea stenoptera), Kaolin, Talc, Vanilla Pod (Vanilla planifolia), Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Sandalwood Oil (Santalum austro-caledonicum vieill), Benzoin Resinoid (Styrax tonkinensis pierre), *Coumarin, *Benzyl Cinnamate, *Linalool, Perfume, Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides)
I was not looking for a face mask but whilst shopping in Lush one of their employees asked if i would like a try. After discussing my skin complextion with them they recommended The Oatifix.
Apperance wise it looks like a mashed up flapjack in a tub. It smells like a combination of banana's and vanilla. It smells really nice and the honey and banana is the most obvious scents.
Putting on the mask it felt quite heavy on the face. It is quite a thick consistency so not the easiest thing to spread on your face. You should take it out of the fridge for 20 minutes or so before applying otherwise lumps of it will fall off your face.
The combination of the oats and banana leave you skin feeling super soft. The lillpe butter is anti-inflamotory and helps to soothe irritations and spots.
I just left it on for just over 10 minute and washed it off my skin to reveal soft and glowing skin. When washing off the shop assistant recommended using the almonds that is in it to give the face a gentle rub for a light exfoliating scrub.
I absolutely love this face mask and really look forward to my weekly weekend treat of this face mask. At £5.25 you get around 2 to 4 uses, so it works out at good value for money. I found that 1 tub does last me 2 - 3 masks.
It is recommended keep it in a fridge and use within 4 weeks for maximum effect.
Also, if you take back 5 black pots to lush you receive a fresh face mask for free so a nice little saving there if you are a regular user.
Ceridwyn's Cauldron Bath Melt from Lush.

£3.95 for 80 gram bath melt. Available from Lush stores or to order online.
Suitable for Vegans.
Being a massive fan of Lush and especially their bath melts i could not wait to try this one. It seemed pricey for a small melt but i managed to get a good bath worths for me and a bit left over for my little girls to have in their bath which they loved as a treat!
Each melt is wrapped in muslin and tied with a red ribbon. The bath melt has a number ingredients but i found the Cocoa butter made my skin feel soft and i love the smell of Cocoa butter too. Lavendar and Sandlewood scents are easily identifiable. Once i had run the melt under the water - it turns the bath water into a cloudy milk colour water - you can use the muslin sack to rub over your body . The oats inside the melt give your skin a lovely soft feel too.
A def fave of mine now and i highly recommend for a relaxing treat and also a lovely treat for yor skin too.
" Charlotte O'Keefe's beautiful, much-longed-for, adored daughter Willow is born with osteogenesis imperfecta - a very severe form of brittle bone disease. If she slips on a crisp packet she could break both her legs, and spend six months in a half body cast. After years of caring for Willow, her family faces financial disaster. Then Charlotte is offered a lifeline. She could sue her obstetrician for wrongful birth - for not having diagnosed Willow's condition early enough in the pregnancy to be able to abort the child. The payout could secure Willow's future. But to get it would mean Charlotte suing her best friend. And standing up in court to declare that she would have prefered that Willow had never been born... "
I brought this book as a treat as i am a massive Jodi Piccoult fan. I brought on paperback and it has 576 pages and was approx £4 from Amazon UK.
As with all Jodi Piccoult books there is always a strong moral issue running through the books story and this novel is no exception. It was a very intense read. I found myself being able to empathise with every character during the course of the story at some point.
The story is beautifully written as always with Jodi Piccoults book but i did not really understand why the recipes needed to be in the book. Seemed un-necessary to me and i was disappointed by the twist ending at the end. I am not sure why it was added on and would rather had not had the last 2 pages in the book. Sad ending to what is a good read.
I brought a bottle of this when it first came out. I paid approx £26 for a 50ml in the durty free shop on a Ferry.
I like sweet, musky scents. My previous faves being Jean Paul Gaultier, Kylie Minogue Sweet Darling and Anna Sui Dreams to name a few.
The Perfume comes in a cream coloured box with lace effect pattern. the glass bottle itself is a hour class shape and transparent. It has a clear lid with a black ribbon bow on the neck of the necklace. It has the same black lace printed on the bottle as on the box with " Christina Aguilera" in black on the front. The glass bottle is quite thick and chunky. It is very robust as i have dropped it several times accidently into my bath or on my tiled floor and it has never broken or even chipped the bottle at all!
The spray is just right and releases a good size mist. The scent is yummy i love it. It is feminine and girly but not in a teenage way more for 20 - 30 - 40 years old wear. The scent lingers for a few hours on your skin too so you would only need another spray once during the day - i never bother though. The scent itself is sweet but not fruity in my opinion more Jasmine and Vanilla but with a slight musky undetone to it. I personally wear it for day and evening wear.
" Best known for her sassy, seductive style, amazing voice, powerful lyrics and sultry pin - up glamour, Christina Aguilera shares some of her many talents with the release of her signarture fragrance. Christina Aguilera is sexy, self confidant, and supremely feminine "
I am a very inquisitive - ok nosey - person and love reading about others so thought i should share about me too!

I received one of the Lush Star Melts as a freebie in the Lsuh after Christmas Grab Bag promotion. You spend £20 instore and you get a grab bag free with approx £20 worth of Christmas products in it. You dont get a choice tho so it is a bit of a lucky dip.
If you wanted to buy the Star melt at time of reviewing it cost £2.45 for approx 50g star. I think this is quite pricey personally.
Advertised by Lush as ~
"Melt into a bath of sugar sweetness. This festive Luxury Bath Melt smells just like our best-selling Snow Fairy. As it melts in the hot water, the shea and cocoa butters create a skin softening blend, while the icing sugar makes the water creamy and soothing. It's the icing on the cake for all snow fairies and mortals who seek fairy magic and lovely pink water."
The star is a really pretty colour. It has a lovely sweet sherbert smell to it. I was going to let my 10 year old have this one as she is a Lush fan too but i gave into temptation to try it.
I started to run my bath with hot water to start with as i find the melt dissolve better with hot water. It started to crumble in the hot water and gave off a strong scent which smelt like a sweet shop. So far so good! The water turned a opaque candy pink colour too which was quite nice.
After getting the water to the right temperature i realised that half the melt was not solid but hadnt melted either but after a quick swirl in the water with my hand it was all dissolved.
The water felt smooth and i knew it would be moisturing my skin. I dont get that feeling with the Lush Ballistics. It felt relaxing and the scent was so nice to breath in. Even though i still think the £2.45 price is a tad expensive i can see why people would pay it.
After getting out the bath my skin as i thought it would be was smooth and soft and the scent of the melt did linger on me for a couple of hours.
White icing Sugar, Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), PEG#6 Caprylic / Capric Glycerides & PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Cold Pressed Organic Starflower Oil (Borago officinalis), Titanium Dioxide, Perfume, Glycerine, Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Synthetic Musk, Benzyl Benzoate, Colour 14700}.
Would i pay full price for one - No i wouldnt but as part of a promotion, gidft box or freebie yes please! Ideal for a treat, a present etc. A real girly treat.
I am always trying to cut down on costs especially food. My 4 children love their lollies and love the Walls Mini Milks but they are quite pricey at £1.85 for a box of 12 so when i saw Tesco's do their own version in a value range i couldnt wait to try them and hoped they would be worth it.
They come in a rectangle cardboard box. The standard Tesco value logo with a photo of the lollies on the front and the typical nutritional value of a lolly. All quite eye catching and easy to read and find the information you may want .
Each box costs 81p at time of writing this review and contains 8 x 35 ml lollies in Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla flavoured milk lollies. The box promises at least 2 of each flavour.
Each lolly contains no more then 60 calories, 5.8g Sugar, 2.9g of Fat, 1.3g Saturates and 0g of Salt of your guideline daily amount.
The lollies come in a transparent wrapper. My 6 yr old and 10 year old did for some reason struggle to open / tear the wrapper for some reason! Probably more to do with them the the packaging.
The lollies are full of the flavour they promise to be as well as being a smooth milky texture too. Not as strong in flavour as the Wall's one but more subtle taste like milky Angel Delight flavour.
I dont think there is a lot of difference between the value ones and its expensive copmpetitor and we will definately buy these in the future to save a few pennies.
By the way my children never noticed the difference either and if it gets their approval they must be good!
