I recently bought this along with the shampoo as I love the look of naturally tousled hair. Herbal Essences usually works well for my hair so I had high hopes for this product. I got it whilst Boots had a buy one get one free offer on. So both the shampoo and conditioner cost me £3.89
My hair is fairly long and very thick. I am also prone to a lot of frizz and dryness in my ends because I have dyed my hair before. Ultimately I wanted a product that would enhance my layers and give me soft and frizz free hair. This conditioner is formulated especially for wavy hair which I have.
The packaging is simple and follows the same design bottle as all other Herbal Essences conditioners. I am not a huge fan of the cap though. I don't like how you have to push down first to open the hole so the product can get squeezed out. I find that this seems to waste a lot of product in the lid.
The consistency of the conditioner is thick which is great as I find that I end up wasting so much product if I use a runny conditioner. The conditioner is white with a pearly finish and the scent is beautiful. It smells the same as the shampoo. It is light and floral.
After shampooing I applied the product generously throughout my hair brushing it through with my shower comb. The product washes out easily and doesn't leave any annoying residue in my hair which is great.
I let my hair dry naturally and found that it was left soft and smooth after using this. I won't go as far as to say my hair was tousled and frizz free but it was definitely an improvement. The conditioner works a lot better than the shampoo does. I also noticed that my hair had a lot less fly aways than it usually does which was great.
Overall a good conditioner. I probably won't buy it again as I know there are better products out there for my hair. However this conditioner does do an excellent job especially for the price.
I bought this leave in conditioner a long with 2 other Aussie products when Superdrug had a 3 for £10 promotion going on. I had heard great things about this brand and I was keen to try it out because I'm always on the look out for something to help tame my frizz.
The packaging is a simple non offensive white bottle with a pump. I really do not like the pump as it sometimes gets stuck and I really need to press down hard to let the product out. However the pump can easily be removed and repalced by a different one which I am hoping to do soon.
The leave in conditoner contains Australian Eucalyptus extract and Avocado oil. Aussie claims that this well help to de-tangle long hair and protect it from the heat of a blow dryer.
After towel drying my hair, I followed the directions and sprayed the product all throughout my hair focusing on the ends as I would be straightening my hair. I combed it through my hair evenly and left my hair to dry naturally.
I immediately noticed the smell of the product. It isn't overly sweet which I like but it is quite feminine. The smell is unusual but really nice. It does have the same type of smell that other Aussie products have.
I also noticed that the spray is quite sticky because I got some on my hands. I am not a huge fan of putting sticky products in my hair as it is naturally quite greasy. This is to be expected as it does contain Avocado oil but it didn't bother me too much.
Once my hair had dried I noticed that it was a lot softer than usual and that my hair was a lot smoother. I tend to have a lot of fly aways and this helped to reduce them a lot. My hair also looked really shiny and smelt amazing.
I then proceeded to straighten my hair to see if it would really protect my hair from the heat. After straightening I immediately checked for damage at my hair ends. I didn't find any apart from the small amount I already had which was great. My hair was also really smooth and not frizzy at all.
However my one main problem with the product was that it didn't really do a good job in detangling my hair. I still had to comb it several times while straightening. This means that I am still on the look out for the perfect leave in conditioner that will de tangle my hair.
This product isn't bad at all and I will use it all up. However I do think that there are better leave in conditioners out there. If you want to buy this it is currently on sale at £3.50 in Superdrug. The original price is £5 which I personally would not pay.
Overall this does a good job at protecting my hair from heat whilst leaving it smooth and frizz free. It also smells divine! Unfortunately it didn't do a great job at detangling my hair so that is why I will not repurchase.
I've always had long thick hair that is prone to frizz so I'm always on the look out for something to help tame it. I died my hair (permanently) a while back and that caused severe dryness in my ends. I really wanted to find something that would help get my hair shiny and smooth again.
I've had plenty of experience with Pantene products. My grandma and mother both use Pantene shampoo religiously. As a child my hair was always washed with Pantene. However as I got older I realized that Pantene wasn't that great for my hair. The green Pantene caused my hair to fall out. Naturally this kind of scared me away from Pantene products however I heard good things about this masque so I was willing to give it a try.
This masque is quite expensive at £4.69 from Boots. However Boots do have an offer on at the moment, hair care is buy one get one half price.
The packaging of this product is horrible. It took me a while to get the hang of opening it and the instructions weren't particularly helpful. There is an indent where you have to push the lid up whilst making sure you hold the tub securely. It does take a few attempts but if you are really struggling you can just unscrew the lid which I tend to do most of the time.
After opening the tub you have to peel away some silver foil to get to the product. The product smells amazing. It has that typical 'Pantene smell' but better and sweeter. I love it. The masque is a lovely shiny white colour of a medium consistency. The consistency is a bit thinner than most hair masques.
After shampooing, I take a good £2 sized dollop in my hand and spread it evenly throughout my hair with my fingers. I avoid my roots as I'm paranoid that its going to make my hair even more greasy! I leave the product in my hair for 2 minutes like it says on the packaging.
As I am washing off the masque, I can feel that my hair is so much softer and smoother. The masque washes off really easily and I am left with such soft hair. The scent lingers for ages which I love. It also really helps with frizz so my hair is a lot more manageable. My previously dry ends are now moistured and smooth, I also recently noticed that it helps to reduce the appearance of split ends which is an added bonus!
In conclusion I was pleasantly surprised with this product and I will definitely repurchase as it does what it says on the tin!
I am familiar with Herbal Essences products and have used them for several years. They are a brand that I know and trust and their products usually work well for my hair bar a select few. Unfortunately this shampoo was one of those products that didn't have amazing effects on my hair.
I have really thick wavy hair that goes to my mid back and its layered. Naturally frizz is a massive problem for me as my hair is super thick. If I have a bad shampoo it makes my hair look like a total mess so I am very picky in the products I used.
At first I was skeptical at buying this as this shampoo is meant to be volumizing something I don't tend to go for in shampoos because it makes my hair frizzy. In the end I decided to bite the bullet and just buy it as I love the look of natural tousled hair. I bought the shampoo and conditioner as a buy one get one free offer in boots. The shampoo cost £3.89 which on its own is expensive but for a conditioner as well it is fairly reasonable.
The packing is pretty basic and practical. The bottle has a curved shape like all Herbal Essences shampoos which I like as it is something different. The base of the bottle is also wider which is good as it helps the bottle to stay upright. You have to push down on the lid which opens a small hole in which the product gets pushed through. I personally don't like this because I always forget to push down on the lid so lots of product collects in the cap. I would have preferred a normal flip top shampoo.
The actual product has a nice medium consistency and isn't too runny. It has a nice light floral scent to it which is absolutely divine. You don't need much product to get a nice soapy lather which is good. The shampoo also washes off easily as well.
My hair was left feeling fresh and clean and it also felt lighter than usually which was great. However it didn't do much for my frizz, it didn't make my hair more frizzy nor did it help my frizz. My hair wasn't left tousled like the bottle claimed it would be. My hair did smell nice though. Unfortunately the scent only lingered for a few hours.
Overall this shampoo did a good job at cleaning my hair and it did make my hair feel lighter. However I wasn't left with tousled hair and defined waves so I was disappointed. I won't be buying this shampoo again but I will use it up as it does do a good job at cleaning my hair.
I'm a big fan of Neutrogena skin care I find that their products really work for my skin type. I was in boots a few weeks ago and I decided to pick this up along with my regular neutrogena face wash as there was a 2 for £5 offer on Neutrogena products.
The packaging is very simple and has the same white and orange colour scheme that their 'visibly clear' line has. The flip top lid is simple and practical. One thing that I think could be improved is the size of the hole, I think it should be smaller because quite a lot comes out.
This toner contains an unusually high amount of Salycillic acid which is known for its acne fighting properties but it can be quite harsh on your skin so I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with sensitive or dry skin.
Once I applied this to my skin with a cotton wool pad I immediately noticed how strong this product is. It didn't irritate my skin but it did leave it nice and tight. After a few times using this my skin got used to how strong this toner is.
Did it work? No, I can't say it did. The blackheads on my nose looked exactly the same. However since using this toner my skin hasn't broken out which is great. I will repurchase not for the blackhead fighting properties but because it helps stop my skin from breaking out and leaves my skin smooth.
I break out quite often and I'm always on the look out for new skin care to try out. Neutrogena is a brand I know and trust so when I picked this up I had high hopes for it and I wasn't disappointed. A 150ml bottle cost me about £3.50 from Boots which I think is pretty reasonable for a drug store face wash. I liked the idea that this was a 2 in 1 product that could be used as a mask and a daily face wash.
The packaging is in a fairly basic silver and orange tube with a flip lid. Its nothing special but it is practical and I have never had an issue with the bottle leaking. You get 150ml or product which lasts a lot longer than what you would think as you only need the smallest amount.
As a face wash, like a said you only need about a 5p dollop to wash your whole face. The face wash is of a very thick 'clay like' consistency which I like. Its a white colour with a minty smell which is neither pleasant nor unpleasant. It lathers up nicely on my face. If you use too much it won't lather up properly and be an absolute nightmare to take off. A little really does go a long way. After the face wash is rinsed off my face feels clean and refreshed. It does a great job of removing make up. It doesn't dry out my skin and leaves it nice and smooth.
I tend to use it as a face mask about twice a week. I take slightly more product than when using it as a face wash and I apply it to my dry face. I leave it on for the recommend 5 minutes then rinse if off. I find rinsing the mask off does take a bit longer then when I use it as a face wash as I like to use more product. I love how my skin looks and feels after using this mask. My pores appear visibly reduced and my skin feels tighter and smoother. It doesn't over dry my skin and gives me a nice glow. I love using this on days when I have been wearing a lot of make up as it gives me a really deep cleanse.
Overall I prefer this product as a mask because I feel it works better. It keeps my spots at bay and my skin looking good. I definitely recommend this product to everyone especially people with oily acne prone skin. Its great value for money and one bottle lasts a long time.
I never used to bother with hand creams until I tried this! I'm a big fan of Soap and Glory products so I bought this along with two other items when boots had 3 for 2 on Soap and Glory products. It only cost me £2.50 for a 50ml bottle which is a fairly good price for a branded hand cream.
The packaging is cute and vintage whilst still being practical. There are a few quotes on the bottle too which are sweet. The flip lid is easy to open and close and I have never experienced it sticking.
You only need a small dollop of this and it works wonders. The cream is pretty thick and not runny and is a nice pearly white colour. The cream sinks into my hands instantly and doesn't leave me with a horrible greasy feeling which I hate. My hands feel silky soft and very moisturised just seconds after applying. I only need to apply it once a day.
This hand cream has that typical soap and glory scent. Its a sweet floral scent which then turns musky. It's a lovely feminine scent that lingers for a long time.
This hand cream has some great ingredients such as Shea butter and macadamia oil which really do help to moisturise and hydrate your hands.
Overall I love this hand cream it leaves my hands soft and hydrated without leaving them sticky and greasy. I will definitely be repurchasing when I run out.
I'm a huge fan of pencil eye liners and constantly trying out new ones. I purchased the mini version of this eye liner for 99p on eBay. You get 0.7g of product. I thought I was going to love it because Lancome is one of my favourite make up brands but I was really disappointed.
The packaging is really simple and sleek. The short pencil comes with a handy gold lid to keep it from drying out. The tip of the pencil is also really pointy and sharp, so it is good if you want to draw a really precise line on your eye lid.
The eye-liner glides on pretty smoothly on my waterline so there isn't much need to pull on the skin. However this eye liner is really smudgy but that is to be expected as it is a 'kohl'. After applying it to my tight line and blinking it would be transferred to my waterline. This is good if you want a smoky look.
The eye liner also came off really easily. It only lasted about an hour before it transfered on my lash line and made my eye make up seem very messy.
The eye liner is very creamy so it needs to be sharpened often. I found that the pencil snapped so it was very difficult to sharpen. I just gave up on this pencil because it became too small from all the sharpening and it became very difficult to use.
The full size version is very expensive at £15.30. I would not pay that much for this eyeliner as it just doesnt last on my waterline and too much product is wasted when it is sharpened.
I purchased this product when ELF had their last 50% off sale for only £3. You get a good 8g of product. After reading excellent reviews about this powder on makeupalley I decided to take the plunge and buy it as it was so cheap. To be honest I wasn't expecting it to be so amazing due to the price but I was pleasantly surprised.
The packaging is not very good as it is too bulky and messy. When you open it to quickly powder flies out everywhere making a big mess. The sieve holes really should be smaller so you don't end up loosing as much product. You also get a white fluffy powder puff to apply the product with but I just use a regular powder brush.
ELF claims that 'the high definition loose powder creates a "soft focus" effect to the skin. Masks fine lines and imperfections for a radiant complexion.'
When I first touched the powder I was shocked to feel how soft and smooth it felt on my fingers. It felt like there was nothing there because the particles are so fine. This powder is very white so if you apply too much it will make you look like a ghost.
I pour a little bit onto the lid and gently swirl my brush into the product, tapping off the excess. After I have applied my face make up I then dust it over my face lightly concentrating most on my t-zone where I get most oily.
I have fairly tan skin so it did make me look a little bit pale and powdery at first but after spraying it lightly with a setting spray my face looked so smooth. This powder made my face feel really soft and made it look flawless! I have slightly dry skin and it didn't settle into my dry patches which was great.
I found that it did make my make up stay on longer and no slide around and fade as much. When using this powder my face stayed matte for the whole day, no need to re- apply!
Overall I would definately recommend this to anyone who wants a affordable setting powder it really does work well. The price is excellent too!
If you haven't heard of E.L.F before it is a budget make up brand where most of the products are only £1.50. Cheap I know! They have a studio range which I personally find is better quality where all of the products are £3.50.
E.L.F was having a 50% off sale so I decided to purchase this product from the studio range so the price was only £1.75! You get 60ml of product in the bottle.
The packaging is really simple and basic. The product comes in a black plastic container with a spray nozzle, along with a cap. The make up mist and spray contains aloe, green tea and vitamins A,C & E. That is great because it helps soothe the skin and keep it looking young and fresh. It also doesn't contain any alcohol so it won't irritate your skin.
After applying your make up hold the spray about 12 inches away from your face and lightly mist it all over your face. Please make sure you have closed your eyes as if this goes into your eyes it WILL HURT TRUST ME! I would recommend putting on your mascara after you have sprayed this spray as it makes my mascara run.
The product has a awful smell. It smells cheap and nasty but it quickly fades after about 10 seconds. This isn't a major problem for me as the smell goes away pretty quickly. You should let this product air dry for about 10-15 seconds.
I find that this spray works really well in making my make up look dewy. I don't like the powdery cakey feel of thick make up but this spray makes it feel really lightweight which is great. When my foundation starts to settle into my dry patches I spray this and my face looks flawless again. I love it!
My face make up really does last longer when using this product. It doesn't fade or slip around as easily and it makes your face look great throughout the day. I would say I get a good few hours more wear out of my foundation from using this product.
I don't really know if it has made much of a difference on my eye make up though. I still experience the same amount of smudging from my eye-liner using or not using this product. I don't think it works well on eye make-up.
I would definitely recommend this product to girls on a budget who want a excellent setting spray.
I am a really girly girl and love make up and especially mascara. When I was in boots this mascara caught my eye because of its lovely metallic purple colour and girly shape. The name 'Sexy Curves' implies that this mascara is good for curling your lashes. Rimmel claim that your lashes will stay curled for up to 12 hours.
The want is a unusual shape. I guess it is like this to add volume, it is also a lovely bright purple colour. The want is plastic which I personally prefer but some people might not like that.
The formula of the mascara is not too thick and a little on the more watery thin side. I prefer that the formula is thinner because that makes my eyelashes less clumpy and more defined. The colour is definitely dark black.
After applying one coat of this mascara my lashes were defined and spaced out. This mascara added a lot of volume but didn't add as much length as I was expecting. My lashes were also curled which was great and very black. After adding a second coat there was a big improvement. My eyelashes were longer and more blacker however they did get a little bit clumpy but not too much.
Throughout the day I experienced a little bit of flaking but that happens to me with mascaras' I use. It wasn't a lot though. This mascara cost just over £8 which is pretty reasonable for a drug store mascara. It does the job well and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a cheap reliable mascara.

Ok so I was in desperate need of a new lip balm as I (being myself) lost my vaseline :( So when I saw this in Superdrug for only 99p I picked it up as it looked cute and girly. And I love strawberries and the scent and milkshake so I had high hopes for this. I was also drawn to it becasue it was pink :) I am sick of using clear lip balms and wanting to have a change
The packaging is small a compact however it is a little bigger than an average sized lip balm but you do get more product and it is small enough to fit in a purse. You get 15ml of product in the tub. It has a simple black lid that has 'I love strawberries and milkshake' written on it which gives you a hint that the smell is going to be very strawberry like!
The libalm isn't solid when you get it it is quite soft and sticky so you only need a little dab of the stuff for the whole of your lips. I think it is a bit too light for my lips as it is kind of a tinted lip balm so If you have dark lips like me I wouldnt really recommend it as It makes your lips seem unatrually light if you put too much on
The smell is very sweet and extremely strong. I felt it was too sickly sweet for me. I mean I like it alot but I dont wear it all the time anymore as I have became sick of the smell! You get alot of product in the tub so it is bound to last you ages.
Overall a good lipbalm but not one of my favourites. I'm sure some people will absolutely love it though. I give it 4/5
I was in desperate need for a new eye makeup remover as to tell you the truth I never ever owned one in my entire life! I decided that now was the time to get one as I had been wearing mascara alot lately and find its quite hard to take of with just tap water.
Whilst in asda I saw this eye makeup remover for about £3 so decided to pick it up as 1) It was reasonably priced and 2) The brand was garnier which I know and trust. Also this eye makeup remover was described as gentle and can even remove waterproof makeup.
The packaging is very simple and clean looking. It is a small bottle so it is easy to take in your suitcase. The lid has a small hole which is a fantastic idea so you dont end up wasting too much product. The product smells really nice. It is not a particularly strong scent it just smells fresh and clean with a hint of grape water.
I soaked a cotton wool ball in the eye makeup remover then gently pressed it on the corner of my eye and moved it in circular motions removing the eye makeup. At the time all I was wearing was mascara but ALOT of it! I found it came of quite easily but as I was wearing alot there was still alot that clumped together under my waterline. Therefore I applied a bit more pressure to my eye area to remove the rest of the eye makeup.
I would have prefered if this eyemakeup was a little stronger y'know. I mean its good that it is gentle but that isnt really good enough if you have very stubborn makeup you need to take off. Overall an okay eye makeup remover. I will still continue to use it afterall I did pay good money for it. I would deffinately recommend it to people who wear light eye makeup and have sensitive skin.
I really wanted to try this new serum by Olay as I love all their other moisturisers and It looked really good. However it is a bit too expensive for me I think around £30? So I was fortunated enough to come accross a free sample on the internet. So I decided to order it.
The sample came in a simple plastic box but the actual moisturiser was very small. (A small tube about the size of my first finger) and it contains 7ml of product which isnt really alot.
OLAY claim that this serum dramatically firms the face, neck and decolletage. The product is a pearly white colour with silver reflexes it sort of looks like a highlighter. The smell is also lovely. Its very sweet and not to overpowering.
I take about a pea size amount on my fingertips then masage it into my face and neck concentrating most on the eye area as I have fine lines around there. Whilst masaging it into my skin I almost immediately noticed how soft my face was feeling. I was very pleasently surprised. I have been using this sparingly so It doesnt run out quickly! But it is good that you dont need alot of product to cover your whole face.
After I applied the serum I touched my skin and it was soo unbelievably soft and looked very youthful also it didnt feel saggy and a few of my fine lines looked less visible.
Overall I am very pleased with this serum from olay and I will deffinately give it 5 out of 5!
As I paint my nails quite often I need a good nail polish remover and I am not willing to spend alot of money on nail polish removers as there are other things I would rather spend my money on. But when I saw this in superdrug for about £1.29 I decided to get it as it was nice and cheap and also Acetone free. Apparently acetone has a drying effect on the nails. This is not good and I dont want my nails to break and become damaged so I decided to get it.
The bottle is quite sturdy and it is seethrough so you can see how much product you have got left in the bottle. I also like the lid of this nail polish remover it is nice and big and easy to screw on so you dont spill any product. However the opening of the bottle where the liquid comes out of it way to big so you could spill it if you left the cap off.
To use, a pour dab a piece of cotton wool onto the top of the bottle and tip it upside down to dampan the cotton wool so it is nice and moist. Then I gently move the wet cotton wool all over my nail in circular movements to remove the nail polish.
I find that the nail polish comes off quite easily with this nail polish remover. However if you are wearing dark colours such as purple, black or red it does stain your nails but that migh have just been he nail polish I was wearing.
I usually go through about 3 cotton wool pieces to remove all the nail polish on my fingers but less if I am wearing a light colour.
Overall I really recommend this nail polish remover it is cheap and easy to use not to mention it is effective and acetone free :)
