3Dconnexion Spaceball 4000FLX
The Spaceball 4000 FLX was built to surpass all industry ergonomic standards by a team comprised of 3D professionals from over 80 companies around the globe, an award-winning industrial design team, and ergonomic design specialists. Rigorous testing created an exceptionally natural feeling device designed to minimize wrist and arm stress and optimize fit for the widest range of hand sizes. Take the Spaceball Challenge - you've never worked more naturally, comfortably, and without fatigue. With the Spaceball 4000 FLX, the user is able to intuitively move 3D models or interact with 3D virtual worlds. Simply rest your wrist on the "Adjustable SoftTouch Wrist Pad" and place your fingers gently on the PowerSensor ball. The ball senses pressure you apply to it - pushes, pulls and twists - and uses that information to correspondingly move your model on the screen. Within moments, you will be able to combine all movements to get complete six degree of freedom control of your 3D models. Apply a light touch to move your models slowly and accurately, apply more pressure to increase the speed of movement. It will be like you are holding your model in your hand - interacting in 3D as we do in the real world. In the real world, if we want a better look at something we can walk over to it, pick it up and examine it from every angle. We do these things intuitively, naturally, without thinking about it. The Spaceball was created to give 3D designers the same capabilities to explore and navigate their designs with six degrees of freedom by combining the ability to simultaneously manipulate 3D objects on the screen while controlling 3D camera angles and positions to view those screen objects. It is a much more natural way to work than using a common 3D dynamic interface, which requires the user to make a conscious decision then execute keystrokes and/or click on a mouse. Such modal operation interrupts and inhibits natural motion which slows you down and restricts you from attempting more complex or continuous motion. But with the greater ease, flexibility and interactivity offered by the Spaceball, there are no difficult moves. So you can go farther and be even more creative. |
