Cleggy Wacom Graphire Blueberry: ... bought myself a wacom graphire for home use after I used one of Wacom's other tablets at work. My own budget wouldn't quite run to the professional end of their range, but I thought (and still think) that the Graphire is a good product for general home use that offers good value for money. It's dead simple to use the pen to point and click and use as a mouse replacement for general Windows use, it m...

... us poor users part with our money to look cool and "with it". So finally, come 2001 and my latest trip to London, I compromised (ha, how we all hate that word only to then punctually fall for it) and got myself one of the small models, an A6 graphics tablet. I'd read extensively about the tablets, including the (few) dooyoo ops available, and there was unanimous acclamation of Wacom as the market leaders in this sector, with their Intuos range of tablets. I chose the A6 one, since the work I'd be using it for would be mostly image retouching, where I'd be working on very small patches anyway. It wasn't a love at first sight, I must admit...

... has long held the position as front-runner in the computer tablets market for one reason - they usually produce the best. The Graphire is their consumer product, whilst their Intuos range provide their prosumer and pro offerings. Description: The Graphire tablet, now available in a range of colours for the style-conscious iMac owner, plugs in to a USB connector and comes with a wireless mouse and stylus, software drivers, a paint package (Painter Classic), Photoshop Pen Tools plug-ins and a screensaver that requires your signature to access the computer. It measures 21 x 23 cm (deeper rather than wider), although the active area is only 13 x 9.5 cm. This may n...

... piece of kit I bought. (Well, equal to the Zip drive, I think). Swapping between mouse and pen is seamless and a joy. I have the USB version as I’m already out of serial ports. Works perfectly. The only disadvantage being that when the PC powers down to standby, this mouse fails to wake it. So just hit the Win95 Menu key. No major problem. The pen holder does stop the mouse getting to the top centre of the screen, but as it unclips, even that isn’t a problem. Very impressed and can’t live without it now. ...
