Advantages: All osrts of buttons, speed, no ball

Disadvantages: a bit confusing, over sensitive

As I currently use a laptop at home I'm not actually much of a user of mice, however at work I do get to use a PC and a mouse (though in some limited capacity) so whilst sat down at work I decided to review the mouse I was using, as it seemed a rather unique one.

As it's been a while since I really used mouses (or is it still mice?) the first thing I noticed was that is was neutered, this mouse (like many now a days I suppose) had no ball, it was an optical one with a red light instead of a ball. I assume work get these as people knick mice balls for some reason, a weird fetish perhaps.

This was the first of a series of changes from what I was used to, the most obvious when touching it was just how long it was, the mouse seemed like it was on some sort of growth hormone and had grown an extra inch or two, perhaps it had been a lab rat in a former life. Though despite being longer it seemed to fit my tiny hands better, mainly due to how the buttons are done .

With normal computer mice you get either 2 or 3 separate buttons that seemed to be broken away from the mouse as a separate section. What this mouse does rather oddly is it split the mouse into 2 sides, with almost half of each side acting as the button. From the tip of the mouse where the wire is (it's ball less, but still has a wire) to around the "belly" (the thickest bit") can all be clicked as that sides respective button. An odd trait that you soon get used to and realise was a brilliant idea and it allows you to really use the mouse the way you want, with out needing to stretch to click the button.
Without being racists, last time I used a mouse they were all white, no a days they seem to come in a variety of colours, this one in particular is black with a silver trim, that acts to split up the two sides as a kind of "divider". The mouse also features a scroll wheel which for those who use the internet or long word documents, will know the use off to quickly scroll from one end to the other with out any fuss, and the third button function of the wheel.

The final addition to what I remember being the typical mouse is 2 buttons on the side of it, that seem to act like a "next" and "back" button from browsers. However I've not really been able to experiment with it at work as I'm limited to what I'm allowed on, though I can see the use of it in principle, for my self using Opera and gestures I can't see the use of it for me.

Anyway it doesn't matter how many new things you put onto something like this, what is the key point is whether it works, where it's responsive and whether it feels like it'll break down on me. And so far it's not broken down or failed to do what it's been told at any point, it's not felt like it's going to snap or crack. To answer whether it works, well yeah it does it's smooth goes where I want it too and is perfectly responsive, in fact perhaps a little too much so at times as it scuttles past where you want due to how well it picks up movement. It is one of the few highlights of the day in the office in which I work.

Overall I feel there's much more the mouse has to offer than I can really see myself using it, not only in regards to the buttons on the side (which is why the mouse is actually a 5 button mouse, the 2 side buttons, the left and right "buttons" and the wheel "button") but into how well it works for things like quick online browsing and gaming. Though for the office life style it's perfect if maybe a little too advanced, for the gamers I can see it perhaps lacking a little something that they may need. And I'm sorry to admit this, but I'm not sure on the price as I never bought one.
