Genius Pensketch 9x12
Ive always like Genius products because they're reliable and of good value. And this was by far no exception.
This happens to be my favourite product made by Genius. A 9x12 2000 LPI 1024 pressure level graphics tablet. Its accurate and built well.
The pen uses one AAA battery which lasts for a long period of time suprisingly, its sturdy and comfortable to hold. The rubber grip makes it exceptionally easy to grasp with no discomfort after long hours of constant use. There are two buttons on the pen which you can select whichever function you want (right click, middle click, double click etc)
It also comes with a mini mouse which is quite handy when used in conjunction with the pen. It uses one AAA battery and its very sturdy and tough.
The pad itself is lightweight and tough. Ive carried this around with me numberous times without feeling hindered. You can just plug it in, and its ready to use, but you do have to install the drivers for the pressure levels to work properly. It is also very sturdy and does not slide around.
Being a 9x12 size pad, its almost as big as my laptop display, gives you plenty of working space to do as you wish, whether it be to draw or desktop use. I mainly use this for Photoshop and its my most valued possession when it comes to my arty stuff.
It doesn't suffer from lag and the pressure sensitivity is excellent. There are also 'Hot Cells' along the top of the pad which makes little tasks like cut, paste, copy, save etc a lot easier and faster. There are also 5 'blank' hot cells which can be customized to what ever you choose. You can launch programs, assign multiple keys strokes, shortcuts, even assign them to your favourite website.
This has to be one of the best devices I have bought. It was less than £90 when I first bought it 2 years ago, and that's VERY cheap for, and I stress, a 2000 LPI resolution and 1024 pressure point graphics tablet. It was an absolute bargain!
There arent any negative things I can say about this product, though I have to admit, it doesn't look as good as those EXPENSIVE Wacom's, but its standards and quality are definitely on par. Its durable and has still lasted me til the present day. Its very fun to use and to experiment.
Well, I hope this was useful to you, good wishes for you digital art people ^_^
