Recently I have had a desktop PC bought for my bedroom and whilst browsing for some funky and unique accessories I stumbled upon mice that were shaped like sports cars. There are many, many designs out there but I settled on the Hotcraze range as they had a number of different colours to choose from. I opted for the blue colour because I thought it looked the best. The silver appeared dull and as the blue looked electric it appealed to me more.
The mouse is shaped like a sports car and surprisingly it fitted well into my hand. I expected to have some discomfort, or at least for it to take a while for me to get used to holding it but I didn't experience this at all. The mouse is optical which has many benefits over having a roller-ball because I have always found they are more reliable and in the past I have had roller balls that simply clog up with dirt over a period of time. One disadvantage of this mouse over a wireless mouse is that the wire can be annoying sometimes and I do certainly prefer wireless but for the price of £10 I were prepared to make this compromise. The mouse is easy to use and is easy and accurate in control and useability.
One feature that I did like was that the headlights on the car allow me to see my mousemat and desk with the light they emit and that is a nice function. I think the problem for some may be that the mouse is a little bit small for those with large hands and obviously the design would appeal to kids and younger people generally. If you are an adult looking for something like this then there are plenty of models out there and I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere for a wireless version and spend a little more and get a more detailed and higher quality car. For kids, though, this is the perfect gift and will make working on the PC a pleasure for them. For youngsters I would strongly recommend this product but it loses one star for not been wireless and been a little bit small.
I got this mouse when I first got my new laptop. I know that laptops don't need this but I prefer optical mouses and it looks excellent!
The mouse is power via the USB socket of the side or back of your laptop or via the USB. This is OK but I prefer wireless or Bluetooth mouses just because there is no wire. The wire doesn't bother me to much but can be annoying sometimes.
My car came in red (unlike the picture) but the lights were the same color. It functions the same as a normal mouse and looks great at the same time ! It is a optical mouse which means that it uses a red light instead of a roller ball. This is great as it means that the ball can't get stuck which is a common problem in some roller ball mouses. The actual mouse does feel quite small in your hand but this makes it perfect for children who want a cool mouse but don't have big enough hands for some of the bigger models !
Overall , an excellent mouse especially for younger children or people who just want a cool mouse on their desk. The mouse is quite small which might bug some people.
Last year I got a new computer and moved my old one into my sons room. I wanted to get him a newer optical mouse, as I find them so much easier to use, and the roller ball on the old mouse kept getting stuck. When I found this on Amazon, I was sure it would be a hit.
The car we bought was blue, although ours is certainly a darker blue than the one shown. The car comes in blue, black or red and has blue led headlights and red brake lights. It really does look like a toy car, but is perfectly functional as a mouse. My son was four when we bought this and was absolutely delighted. he still loves his mouse and I think it is the perfect accessory for a child's computer. I do find it small and easy to use myself, but could not see an adult wanting this.
It does require a USB connection. Wireless would have been nice, but is not available. My only other problem with this is that it always stays on, even when the computer is off unless you unplug it. I do not understand how that works as there should be no power to the usb with the pc off, but the lights are always going on this little car. Because of this, I often unplug it when not in use. I do worry the led lights may burn out, but it is one year old now and still as bright as new. It also still works perfectly so I am very happy with this.
The cheapest one on ebay now is £9.50 with postage, but I believe I paid about £7.50. My son says it is the best mouse ever, so I am giving it five stars.
