Advantages: Makes it easier to vary hand position, easy to install

Disadvantages: None yet

I sit at a desk and use a computer all day at work and then some more at home! Obviously I'm a candidate for repetitive strain injury. A while ago I started getting pains in my right wrist - that's the hand I notmally use for holding the mouse - and tried adjusting my seat height, arm support, etc but nothing helped. At the end of the day my wrist still hurt.

Then I discovered this cordless mouse. It looks good, it's got extra buttons for scrolling, clicking back and forth between web pages, magnifying some screens and for hopping between windows and.... ...it's solved my wrist problem. Now I can use my mouse anywhere within a couple of metres range of my computer and on practically any surface. But the best thing is I can swap hands without having to drag the mouse cable over to the other side of my desk. This means that I don't keep my right hand in the same place all day and I don't suffer from that pain anymore.

It was easy to install on my WindowsXP machine - I think it took just a couple of minutes and was hassle-free.

The mouse transmits a signal to a receiver which fitted straight into a USB slot in the computer. It came with an extension lead for the receiver which could be useful if your screen is a long way away from your computer.

It's an optical mouse which shines a red light from its underside onto whatever surface you are using it on (table, wall, arm rest, arm!) and I found that sometimes it didn't register movement when used on a matt black mouse pad. The solution to that problem was easy - dump the mouse mat - because this doesn't have a mouse ball it doesn't need a mouse mat!

I have used it intensively for 2 months now and am still using the original two Duracel AA batteries, so it's not expensive to run.

This is the only cordless mouse I've tried so I can't compare it against other brands or models but, no kidding, I love it!

Summary: Easy to install cordless mouse - helped me avoid repetative strain injury

The same batteries for TWO MONTHS? Wow... I need to change the ones in my mouse every couple of days. How much do you use your computer?

I always encountered problems with the digital connection so stopped using mine. It was annoying replacing the batteries all the time. I found the wireless keyboard much better and still use that

I've got a Logitach cordless mouse (not this one, but obviously very similar) and I'd agree that it saves a lot of problems. I often use it by resting it on my leg, so there's no strain on my wrist or arm at all. Occasionally I have to use a normal mouse and it feels very strained after using the Logitech.
