Advantages: Precice, No Wires, Feels/Looks good

Disadvantages: need batteries

For anyone who needs to sit back and relax while using the computer. The freedom of a cordless mouse and the precision of an optical sensor.

The quoted range is 2m, which is actually true in real life. Not just in a perfectly empty dust free laboratory. But what if my keyboard is in the way of the receiver, not to worry radio waves are used to transmit the information, meaning you can even use the mouse under the desk.
The optical sensor means no more removing the mouse ball to clean it after clogging up. And no more moving books and keyboard out the way to make room for a mouse pad, it works on any surface including leg, head, arm, floor, wall etc.

*******The one surface the mouse will not work on is a desk with a layer of varnish which will diffract the light, or anything overly reflective eg. Mirror.********

The mouse feels good, it fits perfectly into the hand (this is not for lefties though), and the buttons fall naturally under the fingers. The wheel is sturdy and smooth, and there is even a little button on the side which can be programmed to do anything you desire, if you remember its there! (Don’t think ive used it once). Click the scroll wheel and up pops the web wheel with your 5 favourite sites to access quickly and other options.

Now a wireless connection and optical laser, it doesn’t sound like the 2 x AA batteries stand much of a chance, but they last a quoted “3 months”. And I can honestly say that I have been using my mouse for at least 4 months and not had to replace the batteries (approx. 4 hours per day)

Plus all the fun features a mouse should have, Battery meter on the computer (which only shows Good or Dead) not all that useful, Odometer, turn the lights off and a pretty red glow emerges from the mouse.

Installation is easy and the USB/PS2 receiver finds the mouse instantly (also logitech already has Windows XP drivers out)

With a price tag of £50, a li
ttle high for a mouse you may think. I believe this is one of the most useful peripherals ive ever bought.

Thanks for the information. I'm investigating all kinds of cordless mice.

Good Op! Now I'm considering buying this mouse, because I wanted an optical mouse and I also need a cordless one since the wires wouldn't be long enough for me on the desk! Thanks
