Advantages: Loads of features, extremely comftorable, attractive design
Disadvantages: Rubber started to peel
The MX Revolution is the daddy of all mice. It's marketed as one of Logitech's premium products and has quite a high price tag for a mouse but it still represents value for money since mice in the same price range don't seem to have as many features.
The design of the mouse is quite sleek and has a black finish which would compliment most setups.
I bought this mouse for my MacBook and the compatibility is great with Logitech's included software for Mac which let's you map the buttons on the mouse to almost any function you want.
The biggest feature of this mouse is the amazing scroll wheel. It feels quite clunky at first, almost mechanical and quite noisy! But once you get used to it, you'll miss it when you use other mice, this is the sign of a great product if you ask me. If you scroll slowly it feels like any other mouse, slowly clicking down the page but if you flick the scroller really fast the wheel becomes looser and carry's on spinning even when you take your finger of, this allows you to flick through hundreds of pages with ease.
Apart from the scroll wheel, the mouse has a second one located near your thumb position, as well as forward/backward buttons and a tiny 'search' button.
When the mouse is held in the hand, it is extremely comfortable, certainly the most comfortable mouse I have ever used, it seems to fit in the hand perfectly with a 'cut-out' segment to rest your thumb on. I can use this mouse for hours without any strain.
The precision of the mouse is second to none and feels like a professional product, no dragging your mouse around here like on some other wireless mice.
The charging function is great, even just a couple of minutes on the charger can last you almost an hour and the mouse itself has a handy indicator letting you know exactly how much charge it has. It will also save you a fortune on batteries!
Despite the great design, comfort and features of the mouse, I did happen to find one annoying downside. The right hand side of the mouse is covered in rubber which feels great at first but has unfortunately begun to peel off with use, and I wouldn't call myself a power user. The peeling rubber is unsightly and the plastic underneath is visible, taking away some of the great look of the design. The function of the mouse in unaffected and it continues to work well.
I would still say this is possibly the best mouse available for Mac or PC, just because I've never before felt such comfort and the innovative scroll wheel would be hard to live without now that I'm used to it.
Summary: On the whole, a great mouse, and I wouldn't use any other!
