Advantages: Price, Well Made
Disadvantages: None
I bought this mouse about 2 months ago and paid around about £10 for it. It would seem that £10 is still the going rate for this mouse.
~Design~
I find that the mouse fits quite nicely to my hand. I have used mice in the past which have been both too large and too small to use comfortably over an extended period of time. The mouse is slightly pitched in around the middle, which is a fairly standard shape unless you are purchasing a mouse which has been ergonomically designed to reduce Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). As I thankfully don't suffer from RSI, I don't feel I need a mouse that deviates from the standard shape.
The mouse is designed to be used equally as comfortably if you are left and right handed. My girlfriend is a leftie and she has no comfort issues when using the mouse.
~Technical Stuff~
This is an Optical mouse, which means that it doesn't use a roll ball, but light to track the movements you make. This is standard these days and it's been a while since I have come across a roller ball mouse. I find that it's best to use an optical mouse with a mouse mat as some desks can have an odd affect on the optical light from the mouse and cause the pointer to jump or behave in a strange manner.
The mouse is also wireless. The mouse comes with a small, discreet USB receiver. According to the manufacturer the wireless signal operates at 2.4GHz frequency. I haven't encountered any issue with the receiver picking up the signal from the mouse and find the mouse to be as responsive as the wired mouse I use at work.
You will also need 1 x AA battery to power the mouse.
The mouse is essentially plug and play. Plug the USB receiver into an available USB slot, wait 30 seconds or so for the device to register on your machine and off you go!
~Usage~
This a is 3 button mouse. You have your left click, a right click and a scroll wheel, which also acts as a button. This is a the standard set up on most mice these days. I have found that additional buttons are normally placed for comfort reasons, but these 3 buttons are all you need functionally.
~Summary~
This is a good mouse, which isn't expensive and is made by a manufacturer, Logitech, who have a good reputation. I haven't had any problems with the mouse and would recommend it to family, friends and colleagues.
Summary: A mouse that you don't need a trap for.
