I needed a mouse, I didn't want to spend too much money because, as long as the mouse moves and clicks like it is meant to, I am not worried about what else it can do or what it looks like really. I bought this mouse because it cost £4.00 from my local computer outlet (AUT). It wasn't a deciding factor but it is also a Microsoft product, if Microsoft doesn't know what they are doing, who does? The guy I spoke to at AUT also said they were basic but reasonable mouse, thats good enough for me.
After taking it out of the box, it plugged straight into the back of my computer via the USB port and was detected straight away. Gotta love plug and play. It is a black mouse with the two buttons and scroll wheel. The lead is a dirty grey colour, may have been better to have it black but, how much notice do you really pay to a lead? The wheel is the same colour grey, a little weird! It is an optical mouse so no annoying ball to take out and clean, while having to try to remove the fluff from the inside rollers. This mouse does have four pads that collect dust and fluff from the computer desk I use it on. I have never got on with mouse mats, so put up with having to clean the pads once every few weeks. It's not that much of a hardship.
If you want a basic mouse that does everything a computer mouse should do, this is great, if you want something even slightly fancy and you are going to have to look elsewhere.
