Advantages: Quick and feels great

Disadvantages: The blue beam of light under the mouse

After some problems with my old mouse I had to go out and buy a new one recently and usually I spend forever deciding which is best for me.

I decided to avoid Logitech this time and plunge for the Microsoft 3500 mouse and the main reason was the reduction in price on Amazon at the time from £30 to £13 which seemed a bargain.

The mouse itself is wireless and the set up is very quick and very simple. You put the battery you are given into the mouse which the box claims will last 10 months no problem at all and so far a few that I've have had this mouse the battery has remained in good shape.

You then plug in the little wireless connector into the computer and it is a really small size and you hardly notice it is there. Within a few minutes the computer loads the software of the mouse on to your pc and you're then ready to use the mouse.

The mouse itself, mine anyways is purple in a dark shade and there is many other colours to choose from You have the left and right buttons we all associated as being on a mouse and the scroll in the centre.

Underneath you have the one and off switch with the battery compartment and there is also details about the mouse as well if you're interested.

The mouse in terms of how good it is has many good things going for it. The first is the brand name because Microsoft has always had a good name and we all know who they are. The mouse is small but not to small and fits perfectly in the hand for when you are using it.

At the side are comfortable rests for your other fingers and the clicking sensation of the mouse is very good. When you move the mouse there is little effort needed to make sure you are moving around your screen quickly and in the right direction.

The mouse is optical and it does have a 2.4 GHz connectivity and I have to be honest I have no idea what those numbers mean at all.

The mouse does have blue track technology and in case people are not aware of this I did some research into what the various type of technology were all about. The blue track technology means that this mouse is able to be used on many surfaces normal mice cannot.

I can use this on my jeans and the glide is fantastic and the ability to move is just the same as if I was on a soft surface. I can use it on the floor as well and again the signal is superb and this is not the same as normal optical mice you see.

I would warn people that looking underneath the mouse is slightly annoying because the big blue light which is their beams into the eyes and it is a sharp light and this is the blue track technology coming through.

In my view the grip is fantastic with the rubber on the sides, the movement and the blue track technology help this mouse really excel.

I think the scroll is a problem if you over use it because one simple slide is good enough. If you use the scroll more than once to quickly you lose track of your bearings on webpage's and other things you are doing on the computer.

I think the price was excellent and even at the RRP price of £30 it is a steal but I got it much cheaper than that and I believe it is priced at £11.99 currently on Amazon in many various shades.

With no wires and the wireless capability this mouse is an excellent buy and with 3 years warranty included what more could you ask for?

Summary: A very good mouse with a great price attached
