Advantages: Easy to move, Easy to use, Good for menu navigation

Disadvantages: Expensive, Not contoured to hands, Wheel difficult for small hands

Im not a huge user of our computer at home or this one at work as im a nanny.
I have to help the children with their computer though so I do have some contact with the mouse.
We have one of these mice at home and I wish we had one at work.
Reason being is that the child that uses it at work is Left handed. She always has the mouse on the Left of the keyboard. Im right handed so I have to pick up the mouse and move it to the right all of the time If I need to use it. This required dragging the maouse cable around the monitor. It can be quite difficult to keep the desk tidy with things in the way and once I even knocked a cup of Orange over.
A messy way to use the mouse.
My husband uses a cordless mouse which would be much easier. No cable to get in the way so no spillages. No tangled wires to untangle. Simply lift the mouse and move it.
It relies on some form of infa red sensor to work. This transmits the Mouse's new location to the PC via a small plug you insert into the mouse port.

On top of this function, it has a small wheel in the centre of the mouse. I find this very useful for scrolling up and down menus. Im trying to teach the children to use it but their hands are just too small for it and they dont understand the concept.
My husband is always talking about inventing "mini Mice" for children to use.
If he does, I hope it includes this wheel.
Its very handy.

One critism would be the fell of the mouse. The Mouse at work is also a microsoft one. Yet it is shaped to the contours of your hand. The Cordless Wheel mouse is a more conventional design and does not sit as nicely in your hand.
Perhaps if Microsoft combined all of these good points into one mouse they would make a lot more money.

Our Mouse came with our latest PC but I think they cost about £35 to buy and are a simple replacement for a conventional mouse.

Just because you're right handed doesn't mean you have to use the mouse in your right hand. I use it both, and I'm right handed. :)

Nice review. I use a wheelmouse at work (not cordless) and find it frustratin not having one at home. And due to the junk on the desk at home I think a cordless one would do the trick. Is it just uncomfy for small hands or for all people ?
