Advantages: acurate, left or right handed, well weighted buttons
Disadvantages: first timers may struggle with the 2 extra buttons
I brought one of these mice about 3 years back and liked it so much I brought another after 6 months to use with my laptop.
This is an optical mouse that is made by microsoft and has 5 buttons and a scroll wheel.
The mouse is a nice size and fits in the had well, its a symetrical design so can be used by either right or left handed people which is good as there is one of each in my house.
The buttons are well layed out with the 2 main buttons being in the normal position along with the scroll wheel in the middle, the other 2 buttons are placed on the sides of the mouse and by default are set to work as the back and forward buttons in internet explorer. This is great once you are used to using them but proves to be a bit tricky to start with as they seem to get caught regularly and you find yourself pin-balling between webpages. After you have got past this though they become very natural and you can navigate between pages at pretty good speed, especially if you are like me and jump between google searches and results regularly.
The scroll wheel has a nice soft clicky feel to it and seems to be really acurate at scrolling pages and documents.
The optics feel acurate and the cursor never seems to do the jumpy thing you see sometimes on cheaper mice.
The case hard wearing and even on the older, more used, mouse (and were talking about a lot of use) it seems to have very little wear.
I would recommend the mouse to anyone, at just over £10 now they are a bargain.
