Advantages: Very accurate, Good aesthetics, No cleaning needed!

Disadvantages: None

Every knows what its like when you've been using your mouse for a while and dirt and dust builds-up on the mouse ball and those tiny little wheels that the mouse ball moves to make to guide the cursor on the screen. Takes ages to get it off and even then it ends up hiding inside the mouse itself. You have to push down really hard on the mouse and move it speedily if you want it to move even one pixel on the screen. There is a solution to all of this. Optical GUI input technology. Put simply, instead of having a ball in the bottom of the mouse, you have a powerful LED and a high-speed optical sensor to track mouse movement, and they don't come much better than the Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse. The optical sensor in this beauty tracks mouse movement, 'looking at the surface', at an amazing 7,500 (approximately) times per second so there is absolutely no delay with cursor movement on the screen. And because there is no mouse ball, it means you can use it on any surface at all! Try it on your hand. It comes with two forms of connection for your computer - a standard PS/2 mouse connector and a USB connector. If you have a USB port free for this mouse, its a very good idea to use it as it makes it even more accurate as USB technology can shift data a lot faster than standard analogue PS/2 ports. The mouse comes with some excellent software making your already fantastic mouse even better. This mouse is compatable with the Microsoft IntelliEye software. This comes free with the mouse on a CD-ROM which also contains a full set of multi-language manuals and all the necessary device drivers. The mouse has a scroll wheel which allows you, for instance, on the Internet to scroll a page up and down by simply moving the wheel up and down rather than move the cursor all the way to the side of the screen and moving the on-screen scroller. With the IntelliPoint software on the CD-ROM, you can set the mouse wheel to do all kinds of different things, fr
om making it a replacement for the Shift key, to having it open the start menu. The IntelliPoint software also allows you to full calibrate the mouse to your individual needs and orientate in certain way depending on how you hold the mouse and whether you are left or right handed. With regards to aesthetics, its smooth, easy on the hand, and best of all, it has something the attracts most people to new computer products, well me anyway, it has red LED on the back that makes it glow! If you buy this mouse, you won't be disappointed.
