Advantages: Comfortable, Easy to use, Space savinge

Disadvantages: May take a while to get used to

I bought the InetlliMouse Trackball from Dixons because I had so little desk space.

It took a little getting used to and for the first couple of days I had to stop myself from draging it across the desk to try and move the mouse cursor!

Another thing to get used to is the position of the left and right mouse buttons that are situated on the side of the unit. You use your thumb to click the buttons (lower for left and upper for right) and finger to roll the ball. Next to the trackball is the very usefull scroll wheel. I don't know how I ever coped without this little wonder!

Before I was dragging the mouse all over the desk and now I just rest my hand on the trackball and only have to move my thumb and finger (talk about lazy!) It's much more comfortable and simple - I can't imagine why you wouldn't want one!

Installation was simple on my Windows 2000 machine. I didn't have to install any drivers for it although the IntelliMouse software on the accompanying CD has some usefull extra configuration settings. You can adjust how much screen scroll you get when you move the wheel, and re-assign the buttons from left to right etc. You can also make your mouse pointer jump to the default button in a dialogue box which saves even more movement! For example, when you click "Shutdown", instead of moveing the cursor from the Shutdown item on the start menu, across to the middle of the screen to click "OK" in the dialogue box, the pointer just jumps there instantly!

All round, this is a great little mouse (although it's not that little!) I was surprised how large it was (about 15cm x 8cm) but this is necessary for comfort so you can rest your whole hand across it.

I have one of these trackballs and am equally as pleased as you are with yours.
Great opinion.
