The Saitek Optical Mouse is a very handy mouse for everyday use and also for gaming.
It fits well to your hand even if yours is big like mine and it doesn't accumulate dirt like other mice due to its rather unique surface. Add to that, it looks very fashionable and doesn't require any special drivers, so its plug & play.
In terms of durability, I've had mine for 3 years now and its never disappointed me contrary to other mice which tend to start acting up after only 2 years. The cord is of slightly greater thickness than the Logitech ones and that of course also helps in that regard.
For precisition, I've been able to move it just fine for aiming in online games where every pixel counts, and the mouse wheel is also very accurate and doesn't turn on the slightest of touch.
Being an optical mouse, you of course need a decent non reflecting mouse pad as otherwise the LED will cause your mouse pointer to jump all over the place.
As you will realize, this is the most basic of a range of mice, so it just comes with 2 buttons and the wheel (which also functions as button3), so it lacks fancy features - but those features that it does have are those you need the most anyway!

Price-wise, they got for 10 pounds these days, but I got mine for just over 5 at Maplin back then.
