Targus Premium Wireless Laptop Mouse
Advantages: Easy to hold and grip, moves well, light, easy to use buttons, good price
Disadvantages: None from me
When it comes to my laptop I really would not want to be without it but if there is one thing that annoys me, it is the fact that I really struggle when it comes to using the pad to operate the cursor. I am used to sitting and using my mouse at work and for some reason I can never really seem to get to grips with the over sensitive pad on my lap top. With this in mind and thinking of the amount of time spent on my laptop, in fact not just me but my partner, Stuart as well we decided to invest in a mouse for the laptop. There was a USB port for it to go onto so it is not as if we are left with lots of wires hanging around. I admit to not being the most technical minded person and I am the first at work to be phoning the IT department when I have a problem but I found buying a mouse for my laptop quite an easy process.
I think the process was helped by the fact that when I was looking there was not a great deal of choice and I did not want to spend a great deal of money on the mouse as I simply dint have it! I went to look in my local PC World and I have to say that the assistants were really helpful and even though there was not much choice still helped I and we ended up with the Targus Premium ireless Laptop Mouse. There were a couple of reasons that I brought this mouse, the price and the design of it. Firstly, I thought that paying £15.00 for the mouse was not a bad deal. I did not really shop around at the time but after having a brief look on the internet I have seen that this is about the average price that you will pay for it.
The next thing is the design, the mouse was on display so I was able to hold and feel it in the shop which was great and there is something very comfortable about this mouse. It is slightly smaller than the mouse that I use at work; it is 5.7cm in width and about 3.5cm in depth. The actual weight of the mouse is 54g and I have to say that it is really light to handle and move around. The design of the mouse is also quite modern and trendy, yet without compromising on the way that it works.
The mouse is silver in colour, quite dull silver so it never really shows any dirt or finger marks. I have wiped it over with a baby wipe before just to clean it up and refresh it. The mouse is slightly thinner at the bottom and curves out towards the top and your hand will fit nicely over it. Like most mouse's there is the lefty and right click buttons as well as the wheel in the centre. The buttons do not require a great deal of pressure when you are clicking them but the wheel was a little stiff to start with but it soon became easier to turn.
To use this mouse all you need to do is plug the USB 4 pin plug into the laptop and then the mouse cursor will appear on screen. The mouse will need 2 x AAA batteries and from the advertising on the mouse it is quoted that these will work for approximately 12 months. This mouse also comes with a 2 year warranty but after using it for about 6 months now I have never suffered any kind of problem with it, in fact it has made using my laptop so much easier and I get less frustrated as I now have the mouse option.
As I mentioned, the mouse is quite light so at first I used to almost overshot the screen but you soon get used to controlling it and used to how it flows.
In summary, I would have no hesitation in recommending this mouse to anyone. It is a great price and looks stylish and most importantly is reliable and works really well. It is so easy to install and it looks as if the battery life in it is great as well!
5 out of 5 from me
