Advantages: Works anywhere and weighs nothing.

Disadvantages: None.

I am not a huge consumer of computer gadgets however there are a few which I have acquired over recent years that I now quite simply could not go without, this mouse being on the top of my list.

Trust Micro Mouse

This USB mouse is ideal for use with laptops, I bought it to use with my HP notebook. I searched for USB computer mice on Amazon and stumbled across this find. I initially liked the design of the mouse and the fact that it was small. It looked so simple to use so I ordered one to give it a try.

From the first time I used the mouse I was addicted. I now very rarely use the sensitive touch pad on my notebook and my mouse is usually always connected. There is not even any need to install any specific program onto your laptop, once I connected the mouse my notebook thought about it for a few seconds and then we were away. The mouse works with Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP, Vista and Windows 7.

The mouse is very petite and lightweight which makes it ideal for use on the go. It comes in a handy carry case so you can keep it protected when you are not using it. The mouse is just under 4 inches long and just over 1 inch wide. The USB cable is approximately 50 inches long so you can stretch it a fair way away from the laptop.

The mouse has a 3 button design with 2 that you click and a rolling button in the middle. The buttons are sensitive and responsive to touch and you do not need to press hard for them to react. For my hand the buttons are positioned perfectly and are just the right size for me to use. I should mention that my hands are a little smaller than average, so that maybe why me and this mouse get along so well. However I can't see the size of anyone's hands being a problem when it comes to this mouse, despite it being small. My brother tried this mouse out (his hands are almost double the size of mine) and he loved it.

When the mouse is plugged in and active an attractive red light appears which highlights the rolling button. The sides of the mouse are see-through so you can see the red light through these parts as well. The mouse definitely looks attractive, I like the fact that it isn't bulky and it fits in the palm of my hand perfectly.

My favourite thing about this mouse is that it works on pretty much any surface. Long gone are the days of mouse mats! The mouse has optical sense technology which means it picks up movement amazingly. There is no delay between the mouse and the laptop, it just glides perfectly in time. I can be sat at my desk using it or I can be sat on the sofa using my knee as the mouse mat, it works just as good! The mouse also has low power consumption technology so it doesn't waste your battery if you don't have your laptop plugged in.

Technical Bits

For the mouse to work you need to have the following:
- Pentium CPU
- 1 free USB port
-16 MB of internal memory
- & one of the Windows systems previously mentioned.

A Key Notebook Accessory

Overall I think that this mouse is great, it allows me to use my notebook more comfortably. I do like the sensitive touch pad on my notebook but sometimes I find it a little cramped trying to use that and my keyboard at the same time as my notebook is so small so this is the perfect solution.

I would definitely recommend this mouse or other similar ones which Trust make to anybody who has a laptop, especially those who have notebooks. The mouse isn't very expensive, I bought it for about £15 off Amazon but that was a few years ago so I imagine the price has either stayed the same or reduced. It is definitely worth buying, it is one of those items that you will look back on and think, how did I manage without that mouse?
