Advantages: Easy to use, good quality.
Disadvantages: None.
For people who often make use of either audio recording tools or something like Skype on their computers, they might find that they need to invest in a microphone to get the most out of what they are doing. For example, when I have used Skype without using a microphone, I have found it can be very difficult for the other person to hear what you are saying, and you sound very tinny and distant. This would be even more important if you were recording something for work.
-ooo- The Product -ooo-
This is a simple, easy to use product that makes it very easy to improve the quality of recordings and calls on Skype. You just plug it into the port for the microphone and it works immediately, with no need to install drivers or software.
It has a good, simple design, with a curved head and a solid base. It feels quite light, but is still well built, as I've had mine for about two or three years now and there's no sign of any damage or wear and tear, and it still works just as well as ever.
The base is adjustable, so you can change the angle of the microphone. This means you can set it up in a comfortable position, which is very useful if you're talking for a while. You can also hold it in your hand, which I find useful if I'm having a relaxed chat on Skype, as you can sit back on the sofa rather than having to lean over the computer for a long time.
-ooo- Would I recommend? -ooo-
Because this microphone is only £10, I think it is an excellent value buy and is an essential for anyone who uses their computer a lot in this way. It's well designed, very easy to use and is of a good quality, so I think it's an all round excellent product that is well worth buying.
Summary: Essential for people who use Skype a lot.
