I purchased this product with the intent of recording a monologue. Seeing that it was designed for podcasts in mind, and a high sound quality is necessary for something like that, I decided it would be perfect. However, it was far from so. When recording, I found that no matter what, there was always this slight static-y noise in the background, which made the whole recording sound like it was done with a laptop microphone. This was incredibly disappointing, as at £39.99, I really expected more. However, it picked up my voice very clearly, and some cleaning up on sound editing software made the recording sound wonderful. The range on it is impressive. Tested on Skype, my recipients could hear me from around 4 feet away, which is not bad for a microphone designed to sit on your desktop. It is incredibly sensitive. I found that it picked up even the scroll wheel on my mouse. For me, this was somewhat disappointing, as if I were to be using this microphone for its intended purpose (podcasts), then my listeners would easily be able to hear all the small noises in my room. The build quality on it is fantastic. It has fallen off my desk multiple times, but still works perfectly. In conclusion, it's definitely worth a buy if you know how to clean up background noises using sound editing software. Otherwise, the sensitivity could ruin what is otherwise a fantastic product.
