Advantages: easy to use, loud ping, cleans easy, good size

Disadvantages: None

When I first moved into my flat (almost a year ago now!!!) the kitchen came supplied with most of things it needed, but it did not have a microwave, and that is something that seems almost essential in a kitchen in this day and age. The first place that came to my mind to look for a good microwave was Argos, so off I went to Argos to see what they had to offer.

Being on a tight budget when I first moved in, I didn't want to spend loads of money, but I didn't want something that wasn't worth buying either. I saw that there was an Argos Value Range Microwave, and at £30, this seemed perfect. It had all the credentials I needed, white to match the rest of the kitchen, wattage rate D, and is a microwave. I do not need anything fancy, just something to cook and heat up food in, so it seemed like the ideal one.

It is a manual microwave, meaning it has turn dials instead of digital buttons, but this to me would be a better idea as there is no fidlly programming or anything and I can just turn it on easily. It comes with a two dials, the top one is to select the wattage setting, which starts at defrost, and ends at 700. There is about 4 different options in between, so you can be assured you can use the one which is right at the time. The lower dial is for the time, and this is all clearly labelled so you can see exactly which time you have selected, with no hassles.

The dials turn really smoothly, and it is easy to select exactly what you need. The ping, when the food is done is quite loud and I can easily hear it from another room in my house, so I do not need to be hovering around the microwave or linger in the kitchen waiting for it to be done. There is a large push button to open the door, and this opens quite easily, so you do not have to put any excess pressure on it to just get your food out. The spinning disc in the centre is clear, and it is easily removeable for cleaning. I found it just as easy to put it back in as I did taking it out, and it is washable with the usual dishes, I am not sure if it is dishwasher safe though.

The inside of the microwave is not the biggest that I have seen, but I have had no problems with size and everything I have needed to put inside it has fit so far. The front of the door is black, and does the usual see through capability when you have turned on the microwave, so you can keep an eye on something inside it with ease. I have found that my food is always cooked throughly when I use this, so I really have no problem on that front.

The whole microwave is easy to clean, and there is quite a good length on the power cord, so you can position it where you need to in your kitchen. Personally, I can not find fault with this microwave, and for the Argos Value Range, it really is a brilliant little microwave. I think that it is brilliant value for the price, especially when some similiar models are available for much more.

You can buy these in Argos stores and online, so you can easily get hold of one. I give this microwave a 5 out of 5 stars and I totally recommend it.
