I have this microwave at my chalet and it does what you would expect of an electrical appliance of this value. I needed something that looked sutably fashionable but didnt break the bank. I had the kitchen recently refurnished so this microwave had to fit in with the new modern look I wanted. The black glass door and vinyl look key pad worked well I think with the stainless steel silver casing on the exterior. It looks stylish, modern and streamlined It has a painted interior lining to so its imperitive that you try not to scratch this one.
It grills, it bakes , it cooks and it can also reheats. To do this you can use a manual 'keep an eye on it' on a pre-programmed timer. Its a 20 litre capacity jobby so it wont take some larger dinner plates, the width of the interior is 25.4 cm, the plate is slightly less then that. Put it this way you cant microwave the christmas turkey in it. The height of the interior is 16 cm, which doesnt sound allot but is a fair amount.
It is a fairly powerful Microwave with a power output of 800 watts and a Grill power output of a 1000 watts. Which means it has a heating category of E. You have five different power settings and these are presented on a % basis that goes up form 20 to 100 in 20 % incriments. The microwave and the grill can be used simultaneously. There is 1 grill setting though, so you`ll have to watch the food when cooking. There are 9 auto start/cook setting pre programmed which differ in power setting and time based on the food you are cooking be it fish or meat. There are 2 defrost settings with an auto weight defrost, nady for making sure that large packed meats and fish are thoroughly defrosted
It also has a A loud bell that is very good at warning you when food is ready. There is a child safety lock which is the first I have seen on a micowave and even my more expensive but older microwave in my house doesnt have this - so I think it is a great feature that is long overdue. It has the usual LCD readout with a 24 hour clock, a 99 minute timer and inside it includes a grill rack.
Dimensions are; Size (H)25.8, (W)43.3, (D)33cm. Weight 11.5kg. Power source, standard plug: 230v - 50hz
So far this microwave has not broken down, its easy to clean out and wipes over easily. But the stainless steel on the side of the exteror and the glass leaves a terrible amount of finger marks but as ou would expect they are easily cleaned away.
All in all I dont think that you would be disapointed in the microwave oven, yes its simple, but I think people know what to expect from cookworks as a brand, they are not the cheapest and their appliances are of good quality. And most importantly the user manual is easy to understand, you will not need to book a day off of work to dicipher it !
The only drawback is the amount of noise is produces, it is a bit...well whiry, but this really isnt a massive deal
You can buy these on Amazon refurbished or new from around £45-60
My old microwave finally decided to give up on us so I needed to purchase a replacement quite quickly. I have had a few cookworks items before and never had any problem with them. I have always found them great value for money. So I thought I would look at their range of microwaves. This one was on sale at the time so I had a look at the features and functions and decided to purchase it.
The design of the microwave itself is very sleek and stylish with a brushed stainless steel finish. It matched other products I had in my kitchen quite nicely. I have used it for grilling, baking, cooking and reheating using the manual and programme functions. It is very easy to use and I particularly like that it fits neatly on my kitchen unit. Just a point to note, it wont take a large dinner plate as the interior is compact. The size of the turntable is 24.5 cms so it will take a plate slightly bigger than this. I have not found that the size is a problem at all as I put things on the dinner plates after I have microwaved them. So there are ways around the compact size and it does have other great features that more than make up for this.
There are 5 microwave power settings ranging from 100%, 80%, 50%, 30% and 10%. So if you need to adjust the amount of power depending on what you want to use it for then it is easily down with the touch of a button. There is also 1 grill power setting and a clock function again these are easy to set. The microwave has the added benefits of an auto weight defrost setting or a speed defrost if you prefer and 9 other automatic cooking features incorporated also. These range from cooking soup, baked potatoes, auto reheat and cooking meats and pasta. It also makes very little noise when cooking which is an added bonus and has a lovely clear bell at the end of cooking time.
I use this everyday and find it easy to maintain. However as it is stainless steel finger marks do tend to show up on it quickly but are easily cleaned away. In my opinion this microwave more than matches the other expensive brands out there and I would rate it quite high

We bought this microwave with our wedding vouchers and have to say I hate it! I've had it for three months and still don't understand it.
It's easy to use just to heat up something, but hard to defrost as you have to defrost by weight! I barely have time to cook let alone work out weights!!
When I read the instructions it says A: defrost by weight B: speedy defrost. So I think great you don't have to do it by weight! I am wrong you still have to do it by its weight. You should have a option so it's easy for everyone.
Even if I push the defrost button and type in 5 minutes it thinks I have typed the weight and then starts cooking for 17 minutes! Theres no way around it arghh!!
I have never had this with microwaves and I have had plenty and I have always found them very easy to use. If it's just something small I have missed and actually easy to work out I still would hate it for the pain in the bum it's been!
It was half price in Argos from £90 odd to £38 I think, so we thought great a digital microwave cooker "bargain".
It's a small microwave, smaller than what I've had before. It is a lovely looking microwave but it just annoys me on one thing "defrost". I haven't even thought of trying it's other capability's yet (its oven) as it would probably take 2-3 days to work it out!
