I couldn’t live without a microwave its probably the one think I use most often and that’s not because I have microwave meals quite a lot. It’s because there easy to use and heat think us instantly and great for making jacket potatoes.

Since we do use our microwave a lot, we bought our AEG model for £189 a few years a go. It’s got an in built grill and even a oven, where you can make a roast or anything like that. Although, be warned it’s a bit complicated and it takes a while to learn out to use it. The manual book wasn’t very helpful.

It’s very good for heating and you can chose the different power level and set the time, you can even set the temperature and defrost frozen foods quite simply. It allows you to set the timer to start automatically like a video.

However, I do find it difficult cleaning it, especially with the grill bars on top, its difficult to get in between the bits, I do use a toothbrush (a spare one of course) to get in between the bits. I always try to make the family cover the products so it doesn’t splash everywhere but they don’t always remember. So any extra hints to clean the roof of the microwave will be very much appreciated.

I have also spent about £70 in repairs in total as it went wrong twice, after the guarantee went, and since our nearest ‘Norweb’ shut we couldn’t extend the guarantee.
It’s a very big microwave and has some lovely buttons, but I would question the reliability, but once fixed I don’t have any problems with it.

Summary:
