I bought this microwave in February 2010 as my husband (cleverly) dropped our old one whilst we were moving house!
I didn't do any research on microwaves, all I wanted was a Panasonic and one with digital display. I knew I wanted a Panasonic because I love their reliability; I come from a family of Panasonic fanatics!
I nipped into my local Tesco and grabbed one of these off the shelf for about £80. If I recall correctly, at the time it was a sale item, even though now they are about £100.
I loved the fact that it was white (all my other 'white goods' are 'white' so it made sense) and also that it was 800watts. It is also quite a compact microwave. It doesn't take up a huge amount of space, but at 17 litres capacity, is big enough to hold a chicken.
There is a defrosting option, which I find is so useful, especially if I have forgotten to take something out of the freezer the night before, which I quite regularly do! It defrosts food in no time at all.
A grill option is also included; I have only used this once as I have a grill in my cooker, but it seemed to work just fine. the food came out lovely and brown and crispy.
There are five power levels, but again I don't really use any of these. I just put in the food, select a time and Bob's your uncle! It is also very, very quiet and only has a loud 'beep' when it has finished.
This microwave is so easy to clean. I use a bit of Dettol and a soft scouring pad and it's as good as new.
The outside only needs a damp cloth.
The reliability is brilliant. Not once has this microwave gone wrong, or have I ever had any issues with it. A real winner in my eyes.
