I bought this after moving out of university accommodation, and at the time a microwave was my only access to hot food. So I was relieved when this turned out to be really good! The first feature that stands out is how evenly this heats food - there are no noticeably hot or cold spots, and you can normally skip the half-way stirring. The controls are intuitive, and it can be started - and adjusted while cooking - with one button.
The built in grill is functional, but much less practical to use. Apart from anything else, it's tiny! This definitely isn't a replacement for a real grill. The heating elements are behind a metal grill, that makes them difficult to get to to clean. This can happen just from the splatter of microwaved food - even if you don't use the grill feature! So be preprepared to clean this regularly.
It's solidly build - I've had mine for several years, and the door hinges are latches are still just as tight as when I got it. The guide rail for the rotating plate snapped at one point, but Samsung sent me a free replacement immediately.
This is a 900 w microwave oven with 6 power levels. It has a 1250 w ceramic grill and 2050 w oven combined which all sounds very great but quite difficult to use. The touch settings and dials actually look very stylish and I am pleased with the look of the microwave but the day to day practicalities are quite annoying. Although the microwave oven has the capabilities to roast and grill I tend to just use it as a microwave continuously pressing the quick start button which increases the time by 30 seconds with each push.
The oven itself is very large with the back looking more like an old terrestial tv than a microwave but inside the actual microwave is not very big. The microwave is very sturdy and heavy.
The interior has a ceramic enamel so it is very easy to clean up splashes and spills.
I would say it is a good microwave but definately for those who like reading instructions.
I bought this microwave, after having had some cheap and nasty ones in the past. I must say I was very impressed with the quality and look of it. It has a lot of different features which I wasnt used to, although I must confess the quick start is the simpliest and quickest way of cooking something. Sometimes, if you are putting a set programme on, it can be a bit long winded, setting it up.
The only downside to this is that the handle has broken at the bottom, so I can no longer use the handle, and instead have to pull the top of the door to open it, which doesnt really bother me. Another downside perhaps would be the size inside. I find that its not very deep compared to others I have had previously. All in all, I would say this is a quality microwave, but perhaps designed for indivuals, and not suitable for family microwaving.
