The microwave has various functions, including express cook, defrost and heat. The defrost function works well as food is defrosted without being cooked.
It has all the usual basic features of microwave ovens including timer function which you can set in 10 second or 1 minute increments.
It is easy to use and the buttons are relatively large making them easy to see.

I purchased the Sharp R 246 microwave several years ago (I don't remember the price) and it is still going strong today. I think that it is mostly to be found on Ebay. The oven is white, it has a 20 litre capacity and a power of 800W.
