I've purchased 3 desktop PCs from CCL over a number of years, and on every occasion have had to return the machine to base for repair before I could start using it. On the first occasion, the graphics card had not been properly secured and was rattling around inside the base unit when it arrived. The "on" button fell off within a few months, but the computer worked reasonably well so I went back to them when I upgraded. This time, my monitor (a cintiq) didn't work with the desktop. CCL swore everything was fine and sent the machine back. The front trim had come partly unstuck at this point and after I was injured by the sharp edge on a few occasions I taped it down with electrical tape. I had to use a VGA adaptor to get a DVI device to communicate with their DVI connector - and eventually discovered after a clean install that they had installed an out of date DVI driver which was rejected by XP. The latest development is the jamming of the CD rom.

Being utterly stupid, I ordered a third PC from them in April this year. It arrived with the graphics card rattling around in the bottom of the base unit - does nobody there know how to use a screwdriver??? I had finally had enough and so emailed to cancel the order. As usual, they didn't answer the email - CCL never do - but after I got on the phone they arranged for the machine to be collected. Nearly 3 weeks later, however, and despite several reminders, I still haven't received the promised refund.

My conclusion: CCL Online are a bunch of cowboy operators and I wish I'd never heard of them. Maybe they're fine if you just want to buy components, but I wouldn't recommend their systems to anyone and wouldn't inflict their customer service on my worst enemy.
