Advantages: Cheap, Excellant fast service
Disadvantages: Website could be better
have only dealt with this company twice, and both of those times were this week. On both occasions I have found their service nothing less that breathe taking. I have had some money to burn this week, as I dont have to save for my wedding no more. So what could I spend my money one?? A) My darling wife? B) Or My darling and impressive Multivision Computer. Theres no choice in the matter, and decided to buy extra memory while the prices are so cheap. I did a fair bit of hunting round and found the cheapest for my computer to be £35 plus postage for a stick of 256mb DDR PC2100 266mz unbuffered. Thanks to my mate Tom (Paddyswak here at Dooyoo), he suggested www.crucial.com/uk a company that only deal with computer memory. The search facility was excellant, after selecting your motherboard or computer maker it give you the range of memory suitable and the all important prices. Its important to remember that prices include special delivery put not VAT, so that will have to be added at 17.5 percent. The price for mine was £25.37 total. So that was a £13 saving from the previous cheapest company!!. They offer at least a 10 percent discount for ordering over the internet , but the larger the order the bigger the discount. When I opened my computer up to fit the extra RAM, I found that both memory slots where full with two rows of 128MB , when I had thought it would have had a single row of 256MB memory. Now because I was disappointed at only having 384Mb I order another row of 256MB the next night. On both ocassions I order via there website after 10pm and I recieved the memory 36 hours later by Royal mail special delivery which costs £3.50 and Crucial dont charge you extra for this next working day delivery service. When you order it send out, you get an email from Crucial. At every point you can trace your orders progress and if its left they factory, it forwards you to the royal mails s
pecial delivery tracking service. The memory comes well packaged. Firstly in a bag, which inside is a strong box. Inside the box there is two layes of foam padding, and the memory is placed in between in a anti static bag. This weeks special include the following:- 4pak - 64MB CompactFlash Type I Cards (£23.39 each) £93.56 256MB DDR PC2100, 184-pin DIMM More info £21.59 256MB SDRAM, PC133, 168-pin DIMM More info £19.79 128MB SDRAM, PC100, 144-pin SODIMM More info £15.29 Prices reflect a 10% discount for ordering online. The prices look very cheap to me, but I am no expert on computers!! Thank You for reading!! Regards Baz
