When I asked, they told me they had replaced the motherboard. 6 months after that, just one month out of warranty, the same problem occurred - I asked them to take a look, which they charged me for, and told me that I needed the motherboard replaced (again). I questioned why their motherboards only last 6 months, maximum - and asked that the repair be covered by ... more  ... themselves as it was the same part they had replaced not 6 months previous. I purchased an IPC Web@Star 8170 laptop and was happy with it until 6 months after purchase, the screen flickered and the laptop died. It took numerous calls to the support centre, TekSupportUK, to even get anyone to answer the phone - their support line didn't even have an option to leave a message, it just rings and then disconnects the caller. When I did manage to reach them. the booked it in for repair, and over 2 MONTHS later, I got it back, with no documentation on the problem or what was done to fix it. I would not recomend to anyone my laptop hase been in for repair 2 months - Advantages: CHEAP ABOUT IT - Disadvantages: MACHINE CASE CRACKS, POOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT, EVERYONE PASSES THE BLAME
