      Purchased a motherboard, CPU, etc on a Wednesday. On the Monday it had still not arrived, sent an e-mail to which they replied "we are experiencing problems, please accept our apologies and I should receive the item the next day". Sent an email the following day to which they replied they would ship it out that day. Following day they said the same thing. eventually received the items on Friday (nine days after placing order). On arrival I could not get anything to work, contacted them to which they said return the mboard. The replacement arrived within 2 days, very quick. Still did not work. Informed them that the CPU must be faulty, to which they didn''t reply. Sent about 5 e-mails over 2 days, and eventually got a reply simply saying "check the core". I requested an RMA number, and received one about a day later. Two days after sending it back I sent e-mail for confirmation of arrival, no reply. After sending them about three more e-mails over the course of three days I received a reply saying it will be tested ASAP. Approx a week later I sent another e-mail for an update, no reply. By this time I was getting worried, and sent an e-mail saying I was concerned after reading reviews of people waiting over a month for returned items. I had no reply. A few days later I looked at the Norkom website (parent of Komplett) and sent an e-mail to the sales dept. I received a friendly reply saying they would look into it. He also asked if I could send him some links for the ?bad reviews'' I had read. Later that day I received an email with a list of links to ?good reviews''??? And that my order will be dealt with ASAP I replied explaining that I did not want a list of ?good reviews'' but the product that I had paid for. I asked him why it has taken 2 weeks to place a CPU in a motherboard to determine whether it works or not. I then received a reply saying I would get spec ial preference on this occasion and he will try to speed up the process. Approx 2 days later the replacement CPU arrived, and my system now worked (nearly four weeks since making the order). But they are extremely cheap.

      Komplett is an online retailer of computing and electrical goods. First impression of their website is that it looks quite professional. One thing I noticed is that anyone with a screen resolution setting lower than 1024 x 768 (have a big screen) would need to scroll more to see everything. Not good for those who like their resolutions low. There's nothing special about the site design. It's much like many other online stores. Company logo in the top left, navigation bar down the left, stuff like "View Cart", "Account", "Help" in the top right, and products with pictures down the middle. The site is usually up but I have them seen them down once where I was given an internal server error as soon as I entered their homepage address, but it came back a few hours later.

      Navigation is easy, as with most well-designed, professional websites. Item description pages are well laid out and most are illustrated with a picture.

      Product specifications are broken down into how you would normally find them. You're even given external links to reviews from other sites, the manufacturer page, product information page and a 'Support' page on the description but the Support link says "The page cannot be found". This support page is supposed to be on the 'official' Sapphire website but it probably moved. Fair enough, Komplett have a lot of products so they haven't realized it had moved. One link that doesn't work is their link that lets us download their price list (as an Excel spreadsheet), at the very bottom down the centre of the page. The file is labelled as 150KB in size but the link gives me the dreaded 'The page cannot be found' error page. Their Help section won't load up for me either! I noticed a few spelling errors here and there but nothing major but I have noticed the stock level changing regularly so this is either automatically done by their stock control system or altered manually.

      When you're in the product description page, there's usually a 'Show specification' link. Clicking on this gives you a more detailed specification, sometimes with very technical information that's enough to make you bash your head in from not knowing what the hell they mean. Description pages also tell you the weight of items, if you ever need to know the weight, and of course, the amount of stock there is of the item.

      Something I like about the site is that you can cancel and amend your orders if they haven't been sent out. When you're browsing a category, you can sort the products by name or by price. Furthermore, an excellent feature is their filter. You can filter out items by specifying a Min and Max price and by items that are In-stock, as well as being able to hide images (love this one)! Great if you're on a 56K dialup connection!

      I have no real complaints here asides that Excel spreadsheet thing, which I would have liked to get my hands on, and the help section.

      ORDERING

      As always, you will need to register an account with them. That means providing them with your name, address, telephone number, email address, etc. You can choose from Personal, Business or Government/Other as account types. You can add orders to your Cart before registering though, but you will be asked to either register or sign in when you 'Check Out' your order.

      When you check your Cart, you can edit the quantity of each item inside your Cart or remove items. You can pay by credit card and you can choose whether you want them to store your credit card details or not. When paying, the pages are encrypted so your details are safe.

      Overall, very easy.

      PRODUCTS and PRICES

      I think that they have a very good selection of products. They do not have as much as Ebuyer but an adequate selection, still. Some items listed or not in stock, ordering their back order items means that you would have to wait for stock before you get your item. Komplett can post the items that are in stock first to you, but at extra cost so I'd only order stuff that is in stock or nearly in stock.

      Some prices aren't that great (at least, I don't think so) but many of their items are damn cheap! As always, this is the case compared to high street prices but they do give other online stores a run for their money. That's just what I like to see.

      Overall, very good prices and the sort I like. Some items are better value than others. I've noticed that they do not stock products from certain manufacturers or higher spec items. For example, their PDA selection doesn't have the more expensive models, whereas does.

      CUSTOMER SERVICE

      Customer service is okay...sometimes. For the purpose of seeing what kind of response I got from them, I decided to ask them a question about one of their products. I got a reply within 24 hours but it didn't answer my question. Something unusual about my response is that it wasn't a very formal reply. I don't usually expect that from a company with a big website like Komplett. I asked what one of the specifications meant for one of their product (a USB 2.0 Flash Disk). The particular specification only shows up, 'after' you click on the 'show specifications' link and unfortunately, the staff member didn't know where this particular specification was and was not able to answer my question!

      The other thing I asked was whether the product included a driver CD. The staff member tried to assure me that a driver CD was not necessary, as it installs itself after I plug the device in. That IS true but NOT with Windows 98. Windows 98 requires a driver CD and a lot of similar products DO include a driver CD, in case you have a Windows 98. The staff member could have said 'yes' or 'no', but my question remains unanswered. There's probably a website where you can download the driver from. Well, at least I got a response.

      I've also had to return a faulty item once. After getting RMA authorisation and sending the item back, I was refunded in around a week, which is pretty good as some other companies I've gotten refunds from have taken a month or more.

      DELIVERY

      Delivery is pretty quick. Once you've placed your order, your order is usually delivered to you within a few days if you use their standard delivery. This costs £5, so it's best to order more items in one go to make it worth while. You have the option to receive your item within 1 to 2 days but this costs a whopping £16.88! Now that's a bit of a rip-off! Might be DHL's fault though. Okay, you don't have to use that method. I just hope you don't urgently need the items. You can choose to have items delivered together or have them delivered as soon as they are in stock. Having them delivered separately will increase the amount of postage you pay so I'd recommend the 'deliver together' option. They let you track orders via the Initial City Link site. (Some people dislike Initial City Link though).

      SUMMARY

      I've only ever experienced downtime on one occasion, site is generally fast (I'm on broadband though), they have nice products and at good prices, but customer service is only okay from my experience and there were a few dead links on the site. It's a shame they lack certain brands and some higher specification items but it is still worth shopping with them. To make shopping there worthwhile, I would wait till you have more to buy so you save on postage.

      OVERALL: 8.5/10

        I'll never use Komplett ever again. They sent me a high spec comp which arrived with cpu fan errors. After 6 months and it being RMA'd twice to them, it arrived DOD. Had to get a local computer firm to fix it as the power supply was left disconnected and it had a broken video card! Still trying to get them to reply. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY - AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

        DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY !!!

        I purchaced a Vapochill Micro cooler from Komplett over three weeks ago. The item then took a week to arrive. When fitted it has all but destroyed my brand new CPU because there was no coolant in the heat pipes. I asked Komplett if they had tested the device before shippng. They told me that it is not their policy to test any products before shipping, as they prefer for the customer to return the item if it does not work. I belive it is in this way they are able to dispute the reason for its non-functionality and possibly get out of sending a refund even if the item was faulty before it was sold.

        However I did return the item imieadiately using the courier which Komplett organised (What other choice do I have ?). Since then a further two weeks have passed and they have neither offerd a refund or a replacement unit. When I contacted their customer services and asked to be transferd to a Manager, I was told they do not have any management ???... I belive this could explain the very poor way in which the company does bussiness. As I have never before encounterd a company without a Management structure. The assistant could not offer any resolution and told me to wait a few more days for them to look at the retuned unit. Which seems a lot like a line of Bull and they just dont care about a customers problems.

          Until this company gets its act together and finds synergy with card process, none of my business...

          Tried to order a 37" Plasma TV from this company on two occasions and got charged twice from my card - £1800 on both occasions. Spoke with their head office in Norway who told me that there had been a problem with their card authentication system but only to be told by a UK-based office they were aware of no problems - I'm now out of pocket until this is resolved!!! I have spent £28 on phonecalls to the company to try to resolve the fault only to be told that there is no error and to re-submit my order, only to find the same thing happens - I'm bitterly disappointed and taking my business elsewhere thank-you very much - of course, when their card system releases the payments back onto my card!!!
          I got a rejection first when submitting my card details, that the address did not match the banks' system, changed it and submitted again to be told the same thing but checked with the bank who told me there were no problems, tried again and was told I had insufficient funds!!! They had actually taken the physical payment but a glitch on their website refused to accept the correct details for the order - A nice way to fleece additonal charges... Needless to say - Never again, highly discouraging!!!

          The one from Komplett arrived poorly packaged and was dead

          I once ordered a new processor from Komplett. Being a part time PC builder I have fitted hundreds and never had a single processor that didn't work. The one from Komplett arrived poorly packaged and was dead when fired up. I sent it back and they promptly returned it to me saying I had damaged it. At no time did they listen to me, take on board anything I said. They were right and I had no argument. I lost over £100 on a product I believe was damaged long before it got to me. This happened a few years ago and I have never gone back to them since. I would advise anyone to steer clear of Komplett.

            I recently bought a few items from Komplett.co.uk. These were some wireless PCMCIA LAN cards for my computers and a while back I also bought a wireless router from them. I found the whole Komplett experience excellent considering I only stumbled accorss them by accident.

            At first, I was wary about buying an expensive product from a relatively unheard of company! I had a read on the website and it seemed to offer a fair, genuine service with EXTREMELY cheap products! I bought a router from them and it turned out that through my own mistake I had purchased a DSL rather than an ADSL router! I contacted Komplett by email and recieved a response WITHIN 24 hours. They sent a courier round to my house to pick the prouct back up again next day and I hade a full refund within 3 days of contacting them originally. I have to admit it was the best service I have had so I used the again.

            The product were yet again very cheap, the delivery fast and the shipment charges fair especially since it came by courier. About a year on and my router is still going strong and so are my Wi-Fi cards!!

            Overall, i would highly recommend Komplett, especially for computer Peripherals!

            In my opinion this company is not fit to be in business.

            I found this company through an advert in a PC magazine and found their website very professional and easy to use. I placed an order for a high-spec build-to-order workstation for which I paid almost £2000. There was a wait of just over 3 weeks between my placing the order and the system being delivered.
            The very first time I used the computer it fataly damaged 3 of my USB devices, I reported the fault to Komplett who replied within 24 hours, the not very helpul response informed me that the system had tested ok before shipping and asked if I had tried the USB ports on the rear of the case or just those on the front.
            I tried the system again but this time it would not even boot and the lack of a POST beep suggested a fault with the motherboard. I reported this new information to Komplett who again replied promptly, issuing me a RMA number and offering to arrange for the item to be collected if I would give them a preffered date for the pickup, which I did.
            I took a day off work and waited in all day for the PC to be collected but no one turned up so I sent another email to Komplett. After a couple of days I had not received a reply so I emailed Komplett again, there was still no response so I sent a third email the next day.
            This time they replied saying they had no idea what had gone wrong and would I give them another date for the collection of the faulty system.
            I sent them another date and once more there was no collection, so I emailed Komplett demanding that they get their act together and collect the computer and informed them that I wished to have my money refunded.
            I received no answer and sent a further 5 emails over the course of the next week, none of which have been answered.
            Finaly I took the faulty PC into a local PC shop and had them check it out, they informed me that whoever built the sytem had transposed the USB and Firewire leads when wiring up the motherboard and the Firewire controller chip had been burnt out when I attached my USB devices.

            Poor after sales support. No replies to e-mail. Phone lines dont work.

            Only used once - i wont use again. Shipped to me from Holland, hence high postal costs for next day delivery.

            Goods arrived. One item damaged when box opened. e-mailed and got quick responce "send us photographic evidence of breakage". Odd and inconvenient, but this was done.

            2 weeks later and not even a reply despite a couple of chasers! I am thinking the worse, have they gone bancrupt? or are they just trying to ignore me?

            Phoned them, but it reports a fault on the line - very convenient. I suggest avoiding this company.

            Sorry i cannot say anything more positive.

              Komplett are an online retailer offering competitive prices for computer related equipment such as bare bone PC systems, hardware and software and claim to be one of the leading companies in Europe. Their main office is based in Sandefjord, Norway and they also have a UK office in Coventry.
              Their customer base includes both private individuals, schools, and small and large businesses.
              Komplett also claim "Top service, low prices, professional procedures and talented staff" to ensure that they achieve their aim.
              Hopefully at the end of this review I can comment on the above and give the consumer as much information as I can, based on my experience.

              I've been trading with Komplett now for around 4 years and have so far been pleased with their service. The site has very easy navigation and you can quite easily find what you are looking for within a few minutes. I have found the product range to be excellent and the site is also very fast with an extremely low downtime, as I have never witnessed a problem with the site.

              Registration & Security

              In order to place any orders on the site you will need to register with Komplett. This requires you to provide contact and billing information (such as valid e-mail address, postal address and credit/debit card information) which is protected by 128 bit Secure Socket Layer encryption (SSL). This is identified by the yellow padlock symbol which appears in the bottom of your browser page if you are using Internet Explorer.
              For those of you who are still weary about purchasing online, you will also notice the 'Internet Shopping Is Safe' (ISIS) logo routed to the bottom of the website. This shows that Komplett is a verified ISIS compliant merchant and that www.komplett.co.uk is a verified ISIS compliant web site.
              ISIS sets up a trust between shops and shoppers so that you can shop online in confidence wherever you see the logo and ISIS accredited merchants now account for roughly two thirds of all UK online retailers.

              Look & Navigation

              The site in general looks quite professional and products are clearly listed with illustrated pictures. The layout and text is also very clear and concise (the combination of blue and yellow on a white background works well).

              The thing I like most about the site is the category listing on the left of the home page. This stands out clearly from the rest of the page and is easy to scroll down and find the right category you are looking for. Once you then click the right one, you go to that desired page and a sub category then appears in the top left of the screen. Under the sub categories you also see in brackets how many items are in stock. If you prefer to use the quick method of using the search option, you can do so by typing in your desired product in the search box (which also includes an advanced search) in the centre of the page.

              Once you have chosen an item you then get a detailed description of the item and a small specification with the price listed inclusive of VAT. A lot of other sites tend to mislead you by showing prices that don't include VAT, but this isn't the case with Komplett. If you then wish to view more information on the product, you can click a link for a more detailed specification which includes everything from the weight of the product to the included accessories.

              If you click to buy an item then it will automatically add it to your shopping cart and take you to the checkout. You can then either pay for the item or choose to continue shopping. If you want to view your shopping cart you can do so at anytime by clicking the 'View cart' link that is permanently based in the top right of the website.

              If you are a bit of a researcher when it comes to purchasing goods and normally note down information on products beforehand, then the 'Quick buy' option in the middle of the page will give you access to enter previously noted product numbers to save you having to find each one and add them to your cart individually. What is also useful about this tool is that you can enter a quantity after the product number separated by a denominator such as a semicolon or space to specify if you want more than one.

              One of my favourite sections is the 'Weekly offers' page which is accessible from a link next to the 'Quick buy' option. Here you will find Komplett's weekly discounted offers at substantially low prices. It is important to note that these items are not re-branded or re-manufactured goods, but as you would expect from any new product listed on the site.

              The 'Account' page is probably the hub of the site as it gives you access to all your previous order information, which is accessible to the top right hand side of the site page. This is useful if you ever need to return an item as you can simply search using an invoice number or order number (or even 'all orders') for your purchase and request an RMA number.
              This is also great for checking the current status of an order if an item is awaiting stock or on pre-order for example.

              If you want to contact Komplett for whatever reason, maybe about a general query or something similar, then you have all the information you need by clicking on the 'Contact us' link, which will provide everything from contact e-mail address and postal address to telephone and fax number. This section also acts as a portal to background information about the company which you may be interested in.

              Payment Options

              Komplett accept both credit and debit cards which include VISA, Mastercard, Solo and Switch.
              The only problem I personally had with the site was that it would not accept my Maestro card (which has replaced Switch cards to match the European name). I therefore had to use my VISA card which did work.

              Delivery

              When you purchase your item you can choose to either pay standard delivery which takes 3-4 working days at a cost of £6 (Parcelforce) or 1-2 working days at £16 (DHL). The prices seem a little steep but as the prices of their goods are cheap you still end up paying slightly less with Komplett than any other online retailer. It may have been better however, for them to price delivery based on the size and weight of the item as most purchases are likely to be small pieces of hardware such as memory, expansion cards and hard drives etc.
              It is unclear as to whether they ship out their items direct from Norway or from their UK based office.

              Other useful additions

              At the bottom of every product page there is a useful section that includes a list of accessories for the product you have chosen. Examples include a list of headsets when clicking on MP3 players and accessories such as CD-R or DVD-R discs when clicking on CD-RW or DVD-RW drives respectively. This may seem like a crafty way for the company to make more money, but it makes sense for the consumer if they are there at hand as there's always some accessory that we are likely to purchase with an item.

              Komplett also has a facility for you to save your shopping cart (known as 'Shopping lists') if you wish to come back at a later date. You simply click the shopping list link in the middle of the site towards the top and you then get the option to give your list a name, make some notes about it and then add in whatever is currently in your shopping cart.

              Customer Interaction

              It is always welcomed when sites allow customers who have previously purchased items to list their opinions and ratings on those products for potential buyers to see.
              So when you click an item you can see straight away in front of you, the average rating listed out of 5 stars for the product, given by customers who have purchased it and tried it out. Underneath the product information you will find the reviews that customers have left for the product, although most new products don't have any reviews simply because not a lot of people have purchased them. All the ones that I have come across seem to have 5 stars, so unless all their products are very good and flawless I think Komplett must only list the best ones (unless I see different in the meantime).

              After sales service

              This is probably the most important section of any review on online retailers as this will show how good the company is after they have taken your money. I am now in the position to comment that they have an excellent after sales service as I have successfully managed to return a faulty item in it's last month of warrantee and got an alternative replacement within a week. The product was a 120GB hard drive and as they didn't stock this size anymore, I was offered a 160GB hard drive replacement of the same make at no extra cost. As the original faulty item caused another of my hard drives to become faulty due to corruption, I have also had to return this item after only a month after purchase. The only thing Komplett didn't do, which some other companies do, is get a courier to come and collect the package free of charge. I had to pay £5.30 special delivery to get my items sent back but at least I got a replacement.

                I have now dealt with Komplett 4 times. Buying motherboards, Graphics cards and a couple of processors. The speed of delivery was amazing, ordered by 2pm, delivered the next day.The first order had a faulty motherboard, (not Komplett's fault) , but this was soon sorted out and a replacement sent. They now have a contact phone number so no problems there. Price wise all I can say is incredible. I have not seen better value at other online stores like Dabs and Simply. If you are looking for an upgrade for your computer go to komplett, You won't be dissapointed!

                    I was a little unsure about this company a few days ago after reading varying reviews here. However, being an experienced internet shopper and knowing a bargain when I see one I decided to take the plunge by ordering a few products from this company. The prices that Komplett offer are extremely cheap, compared to some other internet shops I usually use, and the service they offer is second to none. After ordering my products, and saving myself about £60, they arrived next day in a nicely packed box and exactly as they were advertised. Brilliant. You can even track your order online, which is nice. I would recomend Komplett to anyone and I wil definetely be using them again. Do yourself a favour and save yourself even more money, shop with Komplett.

                      • "Rather pricey postage and packaging!"

                      On Thursday I ordered a 'Gainward AGP GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB DDR "Ultra/650TV/DVI Golden Sample", Retail' at 12-1pm UK time. I was hoping it'd get here for Friday, if not Saturday. As it turns out, nothing. Friday - no parcel! I emailed them on Friday asking what the heck was going on, and why I was paying £6.10 postage and packaging - I considered the time I ordered very reasonable. It turns out I hadn't ordered early enough. As an act of respect, they offered me some discount on my next order. I tried to track with DHL (courier) online - nothing.......strange..! Anyhow, on Saturday....no parcel! I emailed them again, however no response within a few hours. Attempted to track with DHL online once again.....nothing.....I'm getting worried now. Phoned their phone-line (which is exactly the same as their fax number) - a familiar fax-tone screeching. Ok, time to phone up and ask DHL what was going on. I phoned DHL, gave the helpful lady my tracking-number....she said no, no record. She asked where it had come from - I told her Denmark (which is where Komplett.co.uk is based, I am led to believe), going to my address. Geee, what a surprise....nothing! She told me it's unlikely the parcel has been despatched, otherwise they could track it for me using just the tracking-number. I paid using a credit-card, no hassle whatsoever. At time of writing this (22:30, Saturday 05/10/2002), no parcel has arrived - this is the same week as I ordered. I think I shall allow Komplett.co.uk until Tuesday to deliver my parcel, otherwise I shall be discussing a refund with my credit-card company. I hope others will think twice before ordering from this company. I certainly wish I had read some opinions on Komplett.co.uk at http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/ before ordering!

                        I purchased some bits to build my own computer; their sales and delivery were both excellent. However after the CPU and fan developed problems I sent them back for testing along with the motherboard. After 3 weeks and several e-mails they replied saying my CPU had been damaged by me (I doubt this) and I would get a refund, or a replacement. My CPU was returned but my motherboard wasn't with it, after an e-mail they said it was damaged and they were refunding 75% of its value. The reason for this, they said was that "several components had been ripped out" (I didn't damage my motherboard, there was nothing wrong with it when I sent it, as far as I know) They didn't ask me nor tell me this was happening. I am now £150 out of pocket, use someone else DONT USE THIS COMPANY
