I bought a Medion a few years ago and it recently went belly up. For the money I spent on it, it turned out not to be worth it. I would not buy another one. I had to revert back to my old 11 year old custom built model running on XP, which I am typing this on. Unfortunately I also recommended one of them to a nephew of mine and he is now having trouble also. I think Medion PC's have an inherent fault in them and they should be severely reprimanded over it. Never buy a MEDION. I would have preferred not to give any stars let alone one star.
Having had endless problems with a rubbish Medion laptop, I had days battling with their hopeless customer service (no service involved!) whereby they offered conflicting diagnoses of the the problems - it was hardware.... it was software .... they would only offer a warranty repair ..... oh maybe they would offer an exchange .... even though they had terms and conditions that allowed for a full refund within 14 days of receipt irrespective of whether the machine was faulty or not!. I had asked 3 times for a refund - a they ignored these requests - I had to threaten them with legal action through the small claims court - and eventually this made them give my my RIGHTS! At the time of writing I am trying to get their couriers (DPD) who so far have failed 3 times to pick up the unit to return it. They are HOPELESS!
Medion Akoya E4212 This machine took days to arrive from Germany and within a few days started to fail - the touch pad was sticky and kept freezing - after this more and more problems developed - including a typing speed which took 4 seconds foreach letter to appear on the screen. Meanwhile Medion's so called customer service were non-existent and so far have failed to take any remedial action whatsoever. Do not buy anything from this company - they are rubbish.
you have to call helpline and send it back to GERMANY by DPD, you will be sent a label to stick to box take note of tracking number, my PC has froze on a number of times and been back 5 times ,latest in 2012 & 2013 came back faulty had to send letters as they do not accept emails, now after sending copies of all faults and complaints they are going to replace my PC
I own two Medion computers. One of them was bought from Aldi stores and came with a so-called "three-year" warranty. At just over 2.5 years old my All In One medion computer has failed, several months before the "three year warranty" expires.Failed 23 Dec 2012. Won't boot up, recovery fails.27 Dec 2012 eMailed / online support Medion UK.Response from Medion "we'll reply in 3 working days".Here I am on 10 January 2013 still waiting for support / solution.Looks like I'll need to complain to Aldi (the retailer).Replacement computer (by Lenovo) bought.I don't see myself buying another Medion computer in the future unless Medion honour their warranty.
my other half currently has a medion laptop bought online, the service was what I would describe as fine, nothing special but nothing wrong either.
payment was simple and the machine arrived as expected.
The machine is ok its not one for heavy users but for a simple machine to get to your emails etc it is fine.
Although is does have a tendancy to overheat.
The technical support however is a little lacking. The phone service is quite difficult to get through on and the email help well you don't get an answer.
This isn't really anything new any kind of technical support seems to be a pain to get to but I wouldn't refer someone to medions.
Easier if you do have a problem to google it and try to sort it out yourself or send it to a local it professional. Unless its something to do with the actual sale in which case grit your tongue and get ready for a lot of hold music.
So overall the machines are fine for day to day but not professional use (at least the cheaper models)
and the ordering is fine. but aftersales is lacking.
8/10 for the machines
4/10 for service
I sent back a Medion PC for repair. I put Three A4 notices on the machine saying in 50mm high letters Do not be fooled by price or spec. When you have a problem they will just make it worse."DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM THE DATA ON THIS IS NOT BACKED UP. PLEASE DO NOTHING WHICH WILL RESULT IN DATA LOSS." it went to Germany where they ignored the described problem and wiped 150Gb of data without even trying to contact me to see if this was okay. They will not take responsibility for the data loss. They hung up before answering the qeestion "Will you take responsibility for doing the exact opposite to what was requested of you by your customer. Beware, these automatons are still "only following orders".
Yes you will have been impressed by price, spec and 3 year warranty. But once it goes wrong you are screwed. You will enter the surreal world of medion "customer service". They will post (yes POST) a letter detailing returns. And then the pc will be picked up a few days later by DPD and then delivered by horse carriage to medion, Germany many days later. Then your 10 working days commence. In this time they will string you along with excuses and lies. 6 weeks (and a lot of nagging phone calls) later they will admit the pc is unrepairable and send you a "brand new" pc, WHICH DOESN'T WORK!!!!!
Medion customer service is SH!T.
As polite as they may be, they are totally useless and keep you hanging on when you ring them (0871 number).
You have been warned...
Do not buy a medion pc.

I bought a 17.3" 7219 laptop directly from Medionshop UK. It arrived after 4 days with several faults. Keys got stuck at random, audio had a loud humming noise and screen flickered. I rang Medion customer services and was told the laptop would be exchanged but I demanded a refund. It is from here on that the real problems started. After 4 days I received a letter asking me to arrange a return with DPD to Germany. After several attempts I gave up and rang Medion again. They insisted that it is my responsibility to arrange the return, even though the laptop was brand new, broken, and I had asked for the refund within 7 days. Eventually, I wrote a letter advising Medion of my UK Consumer Rights. So, they arranged for collection but I am still awaiting a refund. Will probably have to go through the Small Claims Court or make a chargeback to my credit card. Never again, Medionshop UK.
Bought Medion Akoya Laptop, arrived in good time, but wrong cable to power pack received in box and therefore couldnt use it. Complained, They sent me out a replacement part which was wrong agian this time it was an electronics cable they sent for inside the computer, the sort of thing an engineer would fit not the end user. Customer service very slow to respond to emails and if telephone then transfered to Germany, where the reps very impersonal, robot like and do not seem to grasp what you are trying to discuss with them, or relate to the customer or see what the fuss is about. Will not be using Medion again and next time will try to buy from high street where I can discuss with someone in the UK or buy where the business is run in uk.
I ordered a computer from MedionUK on 11th June, and it arrived DOA on the 18th. Spent 2 days trying to speak to them on the phone (the returns line is constantly engaged). Emailed, no response, finally got hold of their switchboard number and the bloke said he would sort it.The computer was finally picked up on 6th July for replacement, and after that I've heard bugger all. Repeated emails and phone calls have been ignored, as well as 2 letters of complaint to the top management. I've given them £350 and haven't got a computer, and now I'm having to write to the CEO in Germany in exasperation. If you must buy a Medion, get it from Aldi, at least you can take it back.
Crap Crap Crap,I Bought a Medion Akoya 17.3 laptop (cost £550) which broke down within 1 week with an overheating problem, then it lost its boot drive, the agent said they would repair it and I said I wanted a new one to which he agreed, it has now been sitting in its box for a fortnight and I am awaiting a letter from Medion with instructions on how to return it, they do not send instructions via e mail and he gave me some rubbish excuse about how the bar code scanners are different if i printed a label my self, I have waited a week for a letter to arrive and still nothing, I called again later on in the week and told to be patient, waited another couple of days and called a third time to be told it was booked in for the 14th of May its now the 19th and still no letter, the weekend is now here and its Saturday and still nothing, they have till monday to get the letter to me or else I will call my credit card company and get them to sort it out for a full refund as the goods and service are shocking , totally fed up calling them and having some half wit giving me the runaround, there is a number to call the UK office which is free from your landline it is 01793715630 or 01793715694. good luck but I strongly advise you NOT TO BUY A MEDION UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, I had to give one star but it would not even merit that
Purchased a Medion Akoya E1225 Netbook for my son as part of his Christmas 2011, one month later after only using it possibly 4 times the laptop touchpad failed and the keyboard required harder key presses to acknowledge you had pressed anything.
Today I have received a PDF in the MyMedion section to say that they are unable to fix the laptop under warranty as in their words:- Dirty / clogged(Cabinet,Touch Pad,Mainboard,Dc Power).
Your device has been damaged by an intrusion of liquids. A free repair within the limits of our warranty is therefore not possible. The quote for the repair is £323.45!! Interestingly though, I didn't inform them that I am an IT Technician as well as a photographer and popped the keyboard off myself to check this prior to sending to them. Now they have sent me a list of items required for the repair which are:-
Notice anything? No motherboard issues, so how on earth is this costing so much and if there was liquid damage, why a) was it not visible prior to sending b)the motherboard is fine c) whats wrong with the casing?
Needless to say Medion shall be receiving a nice email and phone call from myself for an explanation and I certainly will not be paying the £45 to retrieve the laptop, they can get it back to me for free, or I will arrange to have it collected.
I suspect they are trying to pull a fast one and hoping I do not understand what they are saying...unfortunately for them I do. STAY CLEAR OF MEDION
this computor broke down no less than 3 times within the first six months of ownership. whilst they came and repaired it the first two times , it took me countless hours on the telephone to them at a cost of 7 p a min to talk to some one in god knows what country who could barely speak english. the service was rubbish and was the machine..i had to keep having days holiday to be available for the engineer, then i was told they hadnt got the parts after phoning for 3 days in a row..it was then insinuated i was a not telling the truth by the man ager of the local aldi store and guess what, its still broken and they still havent contacted me again after calling them on saturday, (now weds eve). it cost getting on for 400 quid just for a base unit which isnt cheap by any means..you have been warned buy at your peril. go buy a better one for the same money else where and leave aldi to sell food.
The worst customer service I've ever experienced. After only 5 months tha power unit failed on my 'new' Medion desktop. Medion took the machine back to repair it but dropped the machine, damaging / denting the casing and causing the sound to fail. I reported the issue straight away on receiving the repaired machine back and asked for a replacement / new machine. Medion refused and said they'd repair for a second time....which they did, except they a) didn't bother to fix the sound and b) fitted my machine into what appeared to be an old second hand scratched up case. I'm now going for a 3rd plea with them and they're still not willing to replace with new. Medion are simply the worst company I've had to deal with in my 47 years on this planet. Don't go near them!
