Oh what has happened to this company :s (Medion UK)

This was a great company a couple years ago.
Since moving into GPS and other electronics, their PC side has suffered badly.

PC in question is a P4 550 (3.4Ghz) 512Mb RAM, 6610 XL Graphics and all the usual memory card and WLAN etc.

I and a few members of my family have bought Medion PC's before.
About 4 in total, but this latest one, which ok, bought a year ago, has been hassle after hassle.
And will be the last.

Motherboard fried, and Graphics card has just done the same.
A lot of the blame probably going to their "Award Winning" design. Which may look nice but basically cooks the inside of the PC, with little to no ventilation and a nototoriously hot running Pentium inside.

The do come with a good sounding warranty, 36 Months.
This is like the time it takes for them to fix faults however.
I'm currently a Month and waiting just for an engineer to come replace a card. (5 Minute job i could do myself if i could get a replacement part which fitted).
They can only get an engineer out, one day a week it seems, with 2 no-shows so far and 1 day i finally had to give up and go to work, it always rescheduled a week + later.
Helpdesk is a joke, after finally getting through you find their customer services cant answer even the simplest of questions, (ie Will my warranty be Void if i had got a PC shop to fix it..... followed by silence) Even for this i had to talk to technical support (who are actually great, just shame about the 1/2 hour average wait to get to them)

This was a great company.
All of the PC's bought previously still run great.

Their newest are poorly designed and built however.
(easily seen by my sisters being over twice as old with no faults ever, and mine needing a major repair every few months which i suspect is due to overheating, through bad design)

I wish they could get back to their old ways and build quality again.
Theres not much seen of them now in PC's so sounds like they may be winding this arm up of their company.

Shame really.

Wont be buying again............unfortunately.
