Advantages: In my experience, not many. Some polite customer service staff and delivery people.

Disadvantages: No acknowledgment of problems, no offer of compensation, poor treatment of customers.

In October 2007, I purchased a Medion television from my local ALDI. While people may say 'You get what you pay for', this is ridiculous. At maybe half the price of the big brands, I didn't expect to have bought the worlds greatest product. However, I also didn't expect to be on my fifth television from them within only the first year and a half of my warranty.
During the first replacement, I was told by the delivery driver that there had been a faulty batch of televisions produced and that I was unlucky enough to have bought one of them. If this was the case, why was this 'faulty batch' never recalled and replaced?!
Long story short, I am on my fifth television from them and dread to think how much I have spent on phone calls to Medion customer support. Also, I have had to take days off work to wait for delivery people! I have not been offered any form of compensation or had any acknowledgement of the severity of the problems I have had. I am quite frankly appalled at the way I have been treated and am in the process of contacting Trading Standards.
My advice? Don't even consider buying any of their products, I'm willing to bet you'd regret it.

Summary: Wouldn't touch this company again with a bargepole!
