Great customer service for my 4 year old Mesh Computer
Author Name: dotrascal.com
Advantages: Custom build with ease
Disadvantages: Noisey hard drives and fans
I've been shocked at the low rating that Mesh computers have got here. So thought I'd give them some credit.
In 2006 I bought a computer from Mesh and it was delivered on time and worked out of the box. It was (still is the most noisey computer have owned) and by today's standards not super fast but hey.
Last week I upgraded the memory and processor myself and then did a clean instal of Windows XP. After this I could no longer play back any DVD's and I had also long lost the drivers for the Motherboard. I was now upset with myself as being 4 years after purchase what help would Mesh be to me now?
Well a lot actually. I called them and spoke to a friendly chap who soon discovered my details had long since been erased from their system as a customer. But he asked me to email in the serial number along with the model. This I did. A day later I had a reply linking me to a site to download the Motherboard drivers along with being asked for my address so they could burn a CD and post it to set up the DVD drive so can once again playy back DVD's.
2 days later a jiffy back arrived with a hand written note and the CD. All is working just fine.
My only gripe with Mesh is the fact they all appear to make a racket (in my experience HP/Compaq are quitest as use Samsung Hard Drives and larger cooling fans) and the fact my Mesh has a firewire port on the case, a lead leading from said point to the motherboard, but a motherboard that has no support for firewire.
I'll be buying a new Mesh for the office soon and update how they are in 2010 compared to 2006.
Summary: If you know about computers buy. If you're a newbie go to Tesco Direct for a good deal
