Advantages: Cheap for the specs, good sales service
Disadvantages: if your system gets delivered, Very poor after sales, Too much passing between different dept.
Is it me or do I seem to end up with bad luck when buying PCs (read my Dell experiences which I used after the fiasco with Mesh). Actually I tried to buy a desktop last August and was quoted a 14 day delivery time. All was well with the relevant invoice turning up. In fact the sales staff was pretty much on song though the slight downside was that they couldn't partition my hard disk. Not too much of a problem considering the spec I was getting for a ridculous low amount of money. On the day the PC was meant to be delivered I was supposed to have received a call to say the PC was on the way. Which I didn't and the PC didn't show up either. A call to Mesh ended up being in a queue and different departments and eventually was told that the PC was sent out but the couriers may be busy but I should get it that day. Another another of work wasted as I had to take futher time off. The machine never showed up, and another call and waiting in a queue, suggested that it would turn up on Tuesday as Monday was a Bank holiday. Tuesday came and again the PC never showed up, another several calls and wait came back with the same answer, but then they didn't know what was happening with the couriers and they would call me back after they found out what was happening. They didn't. By Thursday I had enough as the machine hadn't showed up and several more phone calls later got me nowhere. I demanded to speak to a senior manager and was told that I couldn't I had to speak to her first and then the senior person would call me back. Not trusting them after several promises I took it out on the poor adviser on the phone, demanding to know where my PC was, which she didn't know , but was promised that the machine would be delivered tomorrow. I accepted but told that if I didn't then I would cancel the order and get a full refund as I would be away the following week. Yes the machine never turned up and afte
r another lengthy wait I finally got to cancel my order after more being passed through departments and get a refund. I was told that the processing would take a few days and that my credit card would be credited back, which had to be soon as they would have to be paid off very quickly. Anyway further phone calls confirmed that the refund was processed and that my accounts would be credited soon. In fact it was during the cancellation stage that I actually got a honest answere from them after much fobbing around. My system was actually stuck in production awaiting a hardware modem to be delivered and fitted. At least Time Computers will tell you that there would be a delay due to waiting for a component. After all the days of waiting and time phoning through to find where my system was, it was with Mesh all along. I was also told that delivery would be another 14 days, which was farcical no special priority was possible or offer of any compensation such as at least next day delivery which Simply computers offered, and since I had paid the price for the system in August and the price had already fallen in September and that by October when I would get my order it would even be much less and no refund of the differnce was offered, so I cancelled the order. All the messing around had simply made me loose trust in them. Very poor customer service, at least with Dell which I'm having a problem with delivery service was good and prompt.
