Overclockers UK, half overpriced and allll faulty rubbish. (Overclockers UK (Esnet Ltd))

Advantages: none Disadvantages: endless I have been purchasing PC components from ocuk for the past 2 years and decided to buy a full set of components to put together a system about a year ago. I constructed it wrong, hands up, and after numerous RMA's and replacements and lots of wasted money replacing components, I finally just sent the system to them and asked them to fix all of the problems. Amazingly they did all of this for me! I was stunned at how great they were about it. That was until I phoned them to find out where my pc was after a week of not hearing from them. I spoke to a man named Warren who, after I reminded him which system was mine, he took the phone into their technical room and proceded to laugh at my inferior PC building skills along with his colleagues. Big deal, I shrugged off the *appauling* display of "customer service" because he eventually did the job I paid him to do and fixed my pc. Or at least that's what I thought, it returned to me and bluescreened within 20 minutes... After finally getting fed up I just ordered new RAM from elsewhere (as this it turned out was what was faulty in the first place) and fixed the thing myself. It's now been working over a year. The other day I decided to undertake the overclockers gamble and decided to pick up a watercooling loop from them. Once again, the fun began, before I'd even bought it. I phoned their technical support to get some advice on which items to spend my money on. The man on the phone called Sam apparently didn't know too much about watercooling and told me to send in a webnote... marvelouse, I can't help but feel he shouldn't be working in technical support if he doesn't know how to deal with technical issues. I let it fly though and sent in a webnote. Surprise surprise, I got a reply to my webnote saying I should phone the technical support line back and talk to a guy called Sam, as apparently he's the watercooling expert... sorry? I feel like I'm being sent on a goose chase. Until I read the name at the bottom of the webnote. Warren. As if being useless, incompetent at his job and downright rude, wasn't enough, he then decided to just send me in circles. After having had enough I phoned and just immediately asked for a manager. I was handed to their "head of sales".. after explaining what had happened, including the events of a year ago, he just recommended I purchase my products elsewhere... wow, great sales advice there chief. Avoid this company if you don't have weeks to waste chasing your faulty products. They're at the moment under investigation by the consumer complaints commission because frankly they suck. Also, many people say they have good deals, this is rubbish, 90% of their products are overpriced and if there is a product which is on a deal, you can be garuanteed it won't be in stock. Summary: Read all of the above and get an in depth insight into how not to run a company. |
