Hi,
In May 2004 i purchased a new Packard Bell PC from the Lincoln shop of PC World. At the time I purchased the 5yr PC Performance Warranty at £300 and now just over one year later, I tried making a claim for a new monitor as this one failed. After going to the original store I left with-out a new monitor :( Salesman said that the computer wasnt covered at all even though i was holding a valid warranty agreement! At the time of writing I am in the process of complaining to the head office and to trading standards for the false information given when selling the warranty and i would suggest that if you must buy a pc from pc world, arrange your own warranty and do not take out the one from pc world as you will not be allowed to claim for any problems on it!
Summary: Please do not buy warranties from PC World. You have been warned.

a PC is the PC(base unit) and a monitor is a monitor
the sales advisors ask 'do you want to protect your PC from software problems accidents ETC'. monitors dont have software problems!!..
they can go on for hours explaining that the warrenty is for the PC!! and not the carrier bag or the recordable CD's or the paper or the desk or the printer or the ink or the electricity or the telephone bill or the house or the garden or the universe or the... and so on they give you the warrenty certificate that day if you read it is says PC BASE UNIT and the pc brand and model
it does not say the monitor and if you read you will see it comes
i bought a car the other day they never told me the fuel was not guranteed.. damn they should have, they never even told me the air freshener was guranteed damn they should have. now i think about it they did not even tell me my wife was guranteed. that was a shame coz if she went wrong they wont repair her..
