Advantages: ITS GETTING BETTER service, training and atmosphere

Disadvantages: no commision means no discount allowed

PCWorld in the last 12 month have changed their gameplan. They are not on commision and there new bonus structure is on customer service.

This is where a customer comes in to purchase something and rates the service they received. 75% satisfaction=£50 bonus 100% satisfaction=£200 bonus. with other amounts in between. they dont get any bonus under 75% satisfied so their aim is to make customers feel above satisfied each time.

Prices are lowering. Yes you can buy a laptop at PCWorld(£349) lower then Dell offer(£369). plus it comes with 12 year manufacturer gurantee not dells 3 month.

Aftercare is getting better. instead of being £200 for a 3 year contract for accidental, software and upgrade instalation its Pay As You Go now. no contracted periods so if you want it for 1 month you pay for one month. so from £4 a month to pick their technical brains and get graphics cards, modems, ram installed free with the service. plus its cheaper then my household insurance premiums and excesses if i dropped it.

Their service is better. Training has now changed where instead of finding you the highest price pc and demand you buy it, they spend a few minutes asking you what you will use it for and find the cheapest option that does it. great!!

only bad thing is, because there is no commision so there is not a money pot they can use for discount. They have some great dell beating deals anyways so dont expect £50 off just for asking.

Summary: im impressed

i dont work for DSGI. I have my own small retail outlet but i have been into my local PCWORLD on several occassions and have always been ABOVE satisfied with the service. The reason i make these comments is because I know what it is to be a retailer with customers who know little to nothing about how things work. You customers should ask "why?" if unsure, dont just run off complaining to review websites because you are looking shifty opening boxes with a bag on your shoulder. redrum1337 i am not sure which store you work for but if the dsgi were to find out who you are for making bad comments about the company you work for then you would be sacked. if you worked for me id take you to court. not for slander/liable. but for just being who you are!! an idiot customers complain about staff instores and i beleive its staff like you that cause the complaints. so dont act high - almighty, because you are the reason retailers have to now work twice as hard to impress the customers. you are causing yourself extra work because you are not thinking about the customers needs just your own ego by insulting your company, other reviewers and customers. if i received a CV for you to work for me i would first of all laugh, invite you along for an interview and then give you the job. Then make you work all month and at the end of the month take you into the office and let you watch me burn your first and only months wage in a small metal bin. Then ofcourse sack you for wasting time. for you to work for dsgi and be insulting it too just goes to to show how low you are. I know how much the average employee gets paid so if you dont like the job then why do it?? Retailing is a hard business even in the summer time when its quiet. PCworld do try and they do have good morals. maybe its the managment at your particular store who inform you of techniques in a negative way.

Oh hell no! I hope you two are getting some kind of bonus from DSGi and John Clare is going to fellate you! If not then you guys have not been in the job long enough to see the truth.

Also notice that asides from Serberus, who I agree with on principle that a no bag policy only serves to incriminate and victimise legitimate customers and write off their custom totally...only you two serve to masturbate each others fucking egos!

Your mothers must be so proud...

Wow, digital shelves that will instantly give the price of a product. Big frickin whoop. Fair enough it'll mean nobody needs to employ a merchandiser to ticket everything and keep on top of things, add one more boxshifter - i mean sales colleague.

Bac k to your review at hand: Yes, we're getting paid bonuses by customer satisfaction, that is no lie. We also get paid bonuses for making margin and profiteering - the only difference is that it's not commission based by sales colleague. The whole store has to earn this.

Most probably a store will not get the customer satisfaction survey bonus because old habits die hard and the mystery shopper usually gets treated as badly as you garden variety punter. Bad luck there, scratch some bad mojo points for the company.

Yes, prices are low. Yes, we're cheaper than Dell. We're stamping down on them harder than a 3 year old in a tantrum. BUT a £349 laptop does not a powerhouse make. These novelty sized paperweights can do little more than word process, surf the Internet at a slow rate, and has a battery that lasts as long as the aforementioned 3 year old's attention span. Hell, these things barely run ChampMan!

The lesson here: a shiny piece of shit is still a piece of shit.

Customer s are now ripped off even more with the direct debit extended warranty scheme. It's not so much the value it is the attitude. The pitch to customers is "if you are in any way dissatisfied, then cancel the direct debit. It's as simple as that". Fair enough, but what if they've missed a payment? What happens then? It is nigh to impossible to reinstate the direct debit once one little payments has ceased.

" roffle, dood! if they can't afford a £4 direct debit, then they deserve contempt" - WRONG! They may, for example get screwed over by their bank for some unknown reason. Circumstances surrounding their bank account are the individual's own affairs. If there's an accidental mispayment, then surely there's an easy way to get back on the horse? Outlook is bleak. Also note that the initial 12 month theft insurance is also gone on these new agreements, in order to ensure that they do not get called 'insurance policies'...

P C Performance may be cheaper than a household insurer, but at least Norwich Union, Directline and Churchill make cunts out of themselves on their own TV adverts.

And yes, we can use discount, but it's used only in case of emergency. Like when George Bush has middle east peace talks over a spit roast.

Oh and as per training. The new regimen involves more duplicitous reverse psychology and service selling than ever before. So if you just want the damned printer, ensure you have an hour free in that period at least...

Compl aints can be levvied to the fat spotty kid in the corner in the customer services desk...thank you for giving us money.

Store will be having electronic shelves which show the price of the item above it digitally, so soon there will be no more complaining of missing prices. Even i got mad asking a staff member the price of things but soon it will all be digitally shown and a sensor picks up on what is on the shelf so if somethig is moved then the price moves with it
