Advantages: shop on site
Disadvantages: well not one
Profile
PC World is computer superstore, within one roof customers can view and purchase thousands of items from Laptops and Computers to accessories.
The first store was opened by Vision Technology in early 1990’s. In 93 the chain was purchased by Dixon’s and now there are over 163 stores nationwide.
My point of view
I use PC World because I don’t want to buy from internet shops. Buying from internet has caused me so much hassle in the past. In the past year I have purchased PC and a Laptop from PC World. The prices for these items were no more than most stores selling on line.
What I do is go in the store, browse and then select what I want. Other than computers and accessories PC world sells limited number of office desks, chairs and paper for printing and copying.
The service in PC World is probably better than Comet or Currys. Here there will be someone who will be able to give you sound advice on your purchase or point you in the right direction.
PC World is bringing down prices because of its ability to mass buy. There is little difference between this chain and internet retailers whose overheads are insignificant in comparison to PC World.
Recommendation (8/10)
Summary: good place to purchase from

- 04/10/07 Not a fan of PC World at all BUT you should user the net to reserve your item and then collect in store as you don't pay for it until your collect it...the benefit of doing this is that you'll find the prices are cheaper! x |
