Advantages: We do our best to help!

Disadvantages: We need to meet unfair targets, and cannot discount.

I just had to post here. I am a Full Time employee with PC World in Edinburgh. From what I've seen, people are continuosly basing their experience on certain stores. Employees dont get paid high, £6 odd an hour, no commission, barely any Bonus depending on sales targets. You will find that in General, the PC Performance package is great, you get your first month free, and its no Contract. In the first year, if anything technical goes wrong, we will repair. If Accidental, thats your problem, we didnt cause it. With PC Performance, its covered. To the person who said PC World can offer discounts, could be disciplined, or sacked for doing so. Unfair yes, but we make barely anything on Machines. The only bad thing? CA's have to meet Targets. PC Performance is good, prices are good. Not all staff are great, dont refer to us in General. Its unfair if you base your experience on one store, and blame the entire company in General. Generally, most PC World staff are not 'experts' because no self-respecting expert would take £6 an hour. If you asked someone in Tesco what a certain yoghurt contained, they would need to look at the lable, yes? So why slag us off for having to look at our labels. We sell hundreds of machines, and thousands of other items. Do you think we can remember every little thing?
PC World is a good company, great to work for, we have bad reputations due to a select few stores, and we stores that do have a good local reputation get hit hard for it. We sales advisors have to meet out Targets, our Targets consist of selling Norton 360, Microsoft Office, Tech Guy Services, Mobile Broadband, Attacthments and the big one, yes, PC Performance. If we want paid, if we want to keep our job, we sell what we feel you need. Yes there are sales guys who will rip the money out of your hand, but generally, thats a very uncommon thing. If customers refuse to take pc Performance, who do you think gets the blame? Us. Do we honestly think its a good package? Well me personally, 100%, I wouldnt post to defend PC World and PC Performance if I didnt feel so.
As to the person who posted about us not having the items they want, and having to recommend Maplin, that is not our fault. We are TRYING to help you, so you can get what your after. Maplin generally sell more accessories than PC World does. WE do not order stock, WE do not choose what we sell, WE just give you the best service we possibly can. If you dont agree with my point of view, you are very welcome to email be on bo-x500@fsmail.net. Recently, all PC World employees have undergone an intensive training course, to try and help you better. We do our best for you, and get treated like crap. Do us a favour, give us a break. You wouldnt go into a supermarket and rip the piss out of some employee for not knowing if the chicken in their frozen chicken curry is from the UK, would you?

I just wish people would not blame the entire company due to a few bad experiences by select stores.

Summary: We arent as bad as everyone constantly says, wheres the good reviews?
