Advantages: None I could see
Disadvantages: Poor quality stock and store generally in poor state of repair
On several occasions recently I have had cause to visit PC World, and on all of these, have been extremely disappointed. The store boasts that it is the UK's leading store for computers and computer equipment; in my view, in no way does it live up to this claim.
My most recent visit was to look for a multifunction colour laser printer; I have researched a number of online sites beforehand and so knew there were quite a few models to choose from. I was disappointed to find that PC World don't in fact stock such a product; in actual fact, they didn't stock any colour laser printers at all. The printers which they did have available looked somewhat dated and there was a very limited choice.
The store in general looked somewhat dilapidated with a lot of half-unpacked boxes piled between aisles; there was in fact very little space to move at all in the store. Many of the posters on display were coming unstuck and in all honest, the store looked very poorly maintained.
There seemed to be good number of staff on duty, though most of these seemed more intent on gossiping with each other than assisting customers. There seemed to be a good range of laptops on offer, although it became obvious that not all the price labels had been put out with the correct machines. In general, the variety of products stocked seemed limited, and it was hard to see where the store's priorities lay.
All in all, a very disappointing experience and one I don't intend to repeat.
Summary: Very dissapointing - I found what I wanted elsewhere.
