PC World are rubbish (PC World)

Advantages: Big store, Plenty of computers

Disadvantages: Unhelpful Staff, Lack of staff, rip off prices

I would much prefer to buy computer equipment from a small business than PC World.

One experience was when buying a photo colour printer, with money to burn we headed off to our local branch of PC World. The time was 6.30pm on a Wednesday. When we asked if a printer (already set up on the digital camera counter) could be demostrated to us. we were told, sorry its too late come back tomorrow.

So we did, disappointed that we did not have a new toy to play with.

The next day we turned up at a lunchtime, there was hardly any staff in sight, it took 30 mins to attract anyones attention, and when we did it took a further 10-15 mins for them to find someone who could help. Alas another unsucessful visit (that particular member of staff was on lunch) Fed up we complained to a rather uninterested store manager who then said return tomorrow and say that I sent you.

We did, only to be told that the printer on display had been removed, and they were reluctant to open another printer as it would be a waste of ink and paper.

Unfortunatly, they lost our money.

I have had more than a few bad experiences in PC World, mostly these are down to the lack of knowledgeble and un-helpful staff in this place. Believe me, look in the yellow pages for those local Computer dealers and you are promised a fair better service.
