Advantages: Normally free parking
Disadvantages: Expensive, 20% more expensive than other places
PC World are part of the Dixons group and are normally located in large out of town complexes. They stock computers as well as extras such as printers, consumables, and handheld devices. PC World appear to be exploiting their position in the market as a high street name people like to trust. The truth of the matter is that their prices are around 20% more expensive than the shops I normally go to on the net. The staff are often unhelpful and do not know what they are talking about. They are great for simple questions but nothing complicated. At the tills they are normally very slow, but luckily the place is normally deserted so you only have to wait about 10 mins! I'd hate to imagine what it would be like at a busy time. PC World is proabably a good place to go to when determining what you want to buy and then once decided you can go shopping on the net and get it for 20% cheaper. Perhaps it is ok for low priced goods and consumables.

- 05/07/00 You welcome, it is just that when I buy something I really shop around and look for the best deals. For computer stuff, I'd recommend Novatech or Jungle for being cheapest (but watch out for Jungle had some customer service problems) |
