Did the research, very thoroughly, knew what I was looking for and price to pay. WOW found a bargain at PC world, spec of machine well good. Price cheaper by £200 GBP. We are talking about a Toshiba Sattelite Laptop with DVD etc. Just needed to purchase the machine, easy....... This is the PC WORLD in Birmingham..... Firstly find a sales person that realy wants to serve you rather than chat to their colegues, you have got one and he needs to refer you to someone else who can deal with my questions (DVD output to our large screen TV & extra memory as quoted on sales spec sheet). Finally get the "GURU" but he cannot confirm the DVD compatability, OK, spec says it can be done, as I'm prety computer litterate shall trust the spec sheet, next extra memory, well hes just gone to check with his sales computer screen, no problem sir, good let me have one like now I want to pay for it and take it home, not exactly a pressure sale is it, he should have bit my hand off. Check out time paid for said computer & extra memory, picks up computer & asks for extra memory (paid for) to be installed (paid for), sorry you have to join the service Q over there, looks at long Q & many disgruntled customers returning faulty/unsuitable items in Q...mmmmmm. Waits in Q & time running short so enquires how long to bee seen, (new computer in box under arm), no real answer given. Decide that this service should have been done without resorting to complaints Q, collar salesman & ask him about installing memory, good result here he recognises me from 10 mins ago & offers to put my machine forward for its upgrade, but alas the said machine is brought back, we do not stock the memory chip upgrades for the Toshiba Sattelite, WHAT. Here we go through the refund procedure, long winded not worth talking about. Gets refund & takes Laptop home, read manuals & rearing to go, gets DVD puts on machine plays great, lets put it on the Large screen TV as we wanted, tries lead, sound ok n
o picture, read manual again, & TV manual (just bought that as well). Ring Store, you have to call their help line which charges per min, WHAT WAS THAT, you cannot explain in the store so when I get home you want to charge me by the min to sort out the problem, where has good old fashioned sevice gone to, out of PC WORLD obviously.
